    Hard Root Beer

I guess if you did a primary before you bottled it might be ok.

    Hard Root Beer

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/wiki/index.php/Bottle_bomb Bottle bombs in soda making Traditional root beer and other traditional soft drinks can be made at home through a process similar to brewing. However, in soda making, the beer is bottled during what brewers would consider primary...

    Hard Root Beer

I didn't think you should bottle root beer in glass because they become "bottle bombs". Have you look at this in the soda thread?

    Show us your Kegerator

I didn't feel like waiting. I only have 2 kegs in it at the moment but as you can see there is plenty of room.

    Show us your Kegerator

I don't, but i will take a pic in a few days so you can see. It's a Kenmore kegerator.

    Show us your Kegerator

I had to cut half the top off of the corney. It is a tight fit but it works. The gas bottles will go on the outside in a wicker basket but I haven't gotten to that point yet. I think i will run the lines out of the back of the tower when i do it

I used a box I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The box was $20 and the hardware was around $180. Not bad for a $200 4 tap tower.

    Nitrogen after CO2 carbonation

I have a 5gal keg of stout that has been under CO2 for about 2 months now and will not be served until March. If I get a nitrogen set up is it to late to serve it with nitrogen? Will it have the same effect, "fall", when it comes out of the stout tap?

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

AB is a good point to make, it may not be my go to bland beer but a BL always taste like a Bl.

4 Kegs in a mini frig?

I can fit 4 in my Kenmore but I had to take the rubber tops off of the back two kegs

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

OK, this may seem like an obvious question but how do you run sparge water through the coil. Are you running freshwater thought it using the HLT to heat it or are you running the existing water in the HLT through it. I'm thinking of using the heated water of the HLT through it by using a...

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

I'm seeing the point to a traditional HERMS. Thanks for kicking around the idea with me, it help me to focus my creativity.

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

I was thinking about that and started to consider an electric stir (ya i know its more work but i have tinker). Now, wouldn't you have to stir the mash anyway or does the constent flow of the wort enough to get even heat distribution?

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

I see your point about cleaning but i wouldn't think it would be different then getting leaf hops off a wort chiller. I just put mine in some water with vinegar in it to clean than give it a good rinse with clean water or lefter over sanitizer.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

When you cold crashed yours did it clear it out much?

    RIMS VS HERMS, what if?

I have been considering uping my brew stand to a RIMS or a HERMS system. Here is what I am thinking instead. Taking coiled copper, much like a wort chiller, and installing it into my mash tun. Than pumping hot water from my HLT through it. For example, when i go to mash out I...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I made my apfelwein on 2 Jan. I can still see little bubbles at the top and the airlock bubbles every 2 to 3 min. I have not taken a gravity reading but believe it would be very close to its FG. Should i wait to keg it? Should i cold crash it to settle out the yeast? Should I wait until I...

Pitched Yeast Starter at 90 deg

California V Ale Yeast WLP051 I'm not concerned about it working. I'm concerned about it giving the beer off flavors. It was only at 90 and was at 70 within 5 min.

Pitched Yeast Starter at 90 deg

I got distracted and pitched my yeast starter at 90 deg. Realizing this immediately i quickly cooled it down to 70 deg in an ice bath. How do you think this will affect the beer if i pitch it?

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

This is my new brew stand. I haven't used it yet but will this weekend. I built it for around $100 and coated it with lacquer to make cleanup easier in case of a spill or boil over.
