Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

Pilsner and 2-row are easy to come by in Germany. If you like Marris Otter, it is a little harder to find (more expensive) but also not really hard.

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

The first link in the nhc FAQ page gives hints. Looks like St. Paul is a ways off. 4 more centers are close I guess. Not sure how long the "finalizing" phase is. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

Is this ****** Matt Simpson, or one of the guys that graduated from the sommelier course and won a tournament in Germany to get the sommelier title? There is a German program, much like the cicerone (although a good deal easier it's way more expensive) that graduates people I would be...

The 2014 NHC First Round - Results/Speculation Thread

I agree with that, living in Germany, even if my sheets were mailed judging day it takes at least a week, maybe 2 to get to me, then I get to go to DHL and that's another 3 weeks back to the states. When I read that people in my region had results announced at the judging and have their...

Listen up home brewers of Bamberg!

You will probably have better luck on hobbybrauer.de Its a German site but lots of people speak English there. I know a couple of people in the beerscene there if you want to talk to Franconian beer experts rather than homebrewers. There are a bunch of us in the Wiesbaden/Ramstein areas. There...

ISO Cantillon FT MadTree, Founders, Bells, White Kettle

I can get cantillon stuff any time but shipping to you guys is outrageous. If you want to pay it though I could probably arrange. Belgiuminabox is probably as cheap as you can get it bought here and shipped though...

Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

It will be some time in January. Looking to be down in y'alls neck of the woods. Check the facebook group for more info. I think there is a google doodle in there looking for votes of when we should have it.

Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

Best malz is about 24 dollars a sack, there is a minimum buy and I dont remember exactly what it is but Im thinking 4. If you only want a sack or 2, maybe post here or to the facebook group (Ramstein fermenters) and someone else will combine orders to get to the minimum.

    Germany Brewers - Barrel Project

First off, if you haven't joined the Ramstein Fermenters then shame on you :) Secondly, one of our members has attained a used red wine barrel that is itching to be filled with beer. 225 liters (~59 gallons) is a lot of beer to brew. One of his favorite styles and a beer that really would fit a...

    S'More Beer?

How is it coming? I am thinking of trying marshmallow root for the marshmallow flavor. Chocolate stout base and Im going to go with your method and even 50% more graham cracker as that is a pretty key flavor in the smore. Marshmallows are really just vanilla anyway. Not sure how much flavor...

Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

Also, I don't mind making pickups for you guys if its hard for you to get to Wallertheim during the weeks. You can work out the invoice, I'll go pick it up and float the cash/store the grain until you can get up here to get it, or I head that way... Open offer for any of y'all.

Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

For the grains, make sure you call the Heidelberg office ahead so they can prepare an invoice and schedule your pick up in Wallertheim. They were really helpful there though. The local brewery here is gonna help with the gas I think, they are basically going to float me a free 10kg bottle (with...

Any homebrewers in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein, Germany area?

The wiesbaden FD is no good. They apparently only fill chemicals there. The linde gas place in kostheim will rent bottles for .30 cents a day and a fill is 67 euro...that's for a 10kg bottle. Madness. I'm starting to think ill just bottle beers again for the next couple years. Such a pain in the...
