Reverse Osmosis water needed in Belgian blond ale

Check out the “brew science” section and read the water chemistry primer. A lot of good info, but then establishes a “baseline” for folks to start experimenting with water treatments. I haven’t done the baseline yet, but will over the holidays. A good read nonetheless if you’re getting into...

    Falstaff Recipe Advice

Thank you for your response. My plan is to brew the recipe as written, unless someone chimes in with advice for a change to make it more "Falstaff" like. Do you have any input on my third question regarding the fermentation temperature? I'm wondering now if fermenting a lager at 75F will give...

    Falstaff Recipe Advice

Short story long, a co-worker has asked me to brew up a Falstaff Clone. Normally I'd shy away from this but he's agreed to pay for all costs involved. I also just got some new equipment(Gigawort, Inkbird for ferm chamber, anvil 4 gallon fermenter, and wilserbag) and will put it through its...

    Stir Shandy after Ferment?

Awesome. Glad to help. Now get ready for it to stall around 1.020ish in 2-3 days. Warm it up a bit if you need too, maybe 66-68 degrees and it will finish nicely around 1.006-1.008. It will then be delicious.

    Stir Shandy after Ferment?

Hold tight. Mine took 2 days minimum to do anything. Then went nuts for 2 days, and then done. Leave it for at least 14 days in primary

    Stir Shandy after Ferment?

I've made this exact kit and the wife loves it. Me, not so much. Not my flavor. I didn't stir grapefruit flavoring at all. Slowing poured it in and let it sit for two days. Turned out fine.

    Brewers Best lemon shandy results?

Figured I would update, in case someone in the future should want to know. 2 weeks in the primary and 3 weeks in the bottle to condition, and the wife and sister in law love it. I tried it and it's definitely more on the lemon side for my liking, but all in all, an easy and delishioius kit...

Heating in a brewing processing room? EP?

Explosion proof, or intrinsaclly safe areas, are areas classified by what's being done in that specific area. An example is class1, division 1, which is the most explosive area. Heavy acetylene fumes. Think chemical companies. The classification of the area determines the safeties/approvals...
