    Raleigh Breweries

Hey all, I am planning a trip down to Raleigh NC next week. I'm hoping to bike the Neuse River trail, the Raleigh Greenway and other nearby areas. The ride will end (hopefully) near the better breweries. Might not have a car so might stay at nearby hotel. Appreciate any brewery advice.

Maryland FREE FREE small room portable A/C

Used only 1 season, went into the basement where it sat for many years. I plugged it in last year and it blew cold air. It is faded because it was near a basemnet window. I figured someone might be able to use it to build a ferm chamber for summer.

    Brewing my 1st Dubbel

Never used MO in Dubbel. Here is a great, albeit old discussion on Dubbel. It is the recipe I have used for the last 12-13 years. The OP, @SpanishCastleAle, had some great recipes. I am uncetain if he is still around but we used to chat a lot here. He also has a great Bock recipe that I have...

There has to be a better way to drain BIAB over a kettle at mashout without using a hoist

Now it makes sense, I thought people left the grain over the brew pot through most of the boil. Thanks

My Igloo cooler warped when I put hot water(not boiling) to pre-warm it for my mash, thats when I went all stainlees steel.

There has to be a better way to drain BIAB over a kettle at mashout without using a hoist

A long time brewer here, starting to fool around with BIAB so starting to determine my direction. 1 BIAB under my belt. I used a ladder to hold and drain my bag. It worked okay, not thrilled. So that broght me to this post, lots of interesting ideas. Are you not worried that the plastic bucket...

I got one of these a few weeks ago but travel and the holidays have prevented me from using it. Last week I finally used it, fantastic tool. It is easy to use, easy to read, and very accurate. I tested it in boiling h2o and ice bath. I got the 2 probe version, haven't used both but expect...

Hi, I am interested in the Blichmann G2. I have the old keggle system and am moving to BIAB, single vessel. I am trying to reduce the weight of my brewery. How heavy is the G2? Is the price firm? We can discuss via emails Is the false bottom a Blichmann bottom made for this pot? I am local...

    Anyone brewing with green hops?

I used to grow hops and every year I would make one, tasty. If memory serves I used twice the normal weight for hopping the brews. The hops ended up getting verticillium wil so I pulled them. Recently I drank one from a local brewery and it tatsed like grass. No real hop flavor. One needs to...

I was just reading about the style you speak about. I have no real experience with the recipe but it is on my list of soon to be brewed beers. https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/gordon-strong-czech-dark-lager/
