Water additions to tap water, NE IPAs, Bicarbonate

And what your saying is that I need to use Bru'n Water instead?

Water additions to tap water, NE IPAs, Bicarbonate

I actually lowered my Bicarbonate a lot and made my target this: Then the additions recommended are: Mash PH is 5.63, and to get it down to 5.4 is only 5 mL of Lactic. Right direction? Baking Soda additions now are tiny, like 1.x g.

Water additions to tap water, NE IPAs, Bicarbonate

Water addition question for the pros: I have my water profile here: Calcium 45 Magnesium 0 Sodium 15 Sulfate 21 Chloride 10 Bicarbonate 0 I am brewing a NEIPA, and I have built the following target profile: Calcium 125 Magnesium 19 Sodium 7 Sulfate 75 Chloride 175 Bicarbonate 220 In order...

Keezer Cooler Lines and Air Return

Whoops, replied before I read your reply, same info.

Keezer Cooler Lines and Air Return

They are tiny, and I use them to great effect. They are quieter than normal sized server fans but still move air. They fit better as well. This is the fan, about the width of a silver dollar. I use two of them back to back and it'll push your hair back...

    Sink Upgrade?

I have a 2 Basin utility sink in the basement and currently I have two or three feet of garden hose attached to it. It is very useful as it reaches outside the sink to fill up buckets kegs fermentation vessels ect. I'm looking to get an industrial dishwasher hose with the hight arc. Will I...

Tight Or Loose EPDM Rubber Insulation??

Looking for a quick answer here. I am applying 1/2" EPDM pipe insulation to a project. The insulation I have is 1/4" too big for the pipe. Should I leave it loose, or should I overlap so it is tight? I am fairly positive its #2, just wanted to check with all the thermo-experts!

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

Ok. So even though my lines SHOULD stay dry, it is probably a risk to plumb just that foam tubing and run the lines inside. Or... could I do it if it was drained? The pipe is at a steep angle, any liquid spills run down and out. I guess I would be best off wrapping my standard white PVC with...

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

Yeah so I am sure its not as efficient as other solutions, but its what I got. Cools my tower temp by ~20 degrees. With the cool air cooling the return as well, the air being returned is not significantly warmer its still cool air being blown into the bottom of the keezer. A separate return...

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

The only reason for me to do the return line is to keep air flowing. If all I had was 3" PVC and put a fan on the end, it wouldnt push air up. So by adding a full length of conduit, the air blown into the pipe has a return path... after it travels into the top of the beer tower and then into the...

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

The return line is thick conduit, and the air returning is not actually that warm. I get condensate all the way up to the beer tower. I am not able to run a separate return line due to how my house was built. The airflow and cooling is actually pretty great, if I could overcome the liquid issue.

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

Yeah I dont know... there are several posts in here about using air with success. Plus, I am already setup for air- switching to a liquid line is much more work.

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

So right now I have white 3" PVC with lines and conduit floating inside. I was thinking I could wrap it in something like this...

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

I would assume it leaks, but not sure it leaks this much. Anyhow, I will fill it in and see. I suppose I could actually run a drain line to somwhere.

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

I would love too, but I dont plan on doing Glycol- so I need air and return. This pipe would not work well for that as the air needs to circulate around the better lines.

Too Much Water In Da Keezer!

I have an unusual setup. I have a standard 7.1 Cu. ft. deep freezer in my basement. I installed a 2x6 collar on it, and insulated that with 1" foam board. Out of this collar, I ran a 3" PVC line up to my tower, which is 16' of pipe away upstairs, probably 10 linear feet. I wrapped the PVC in...

Rack from Speidel 30L into Keg

Guess I would just be worried about getting trub/floaters as it is pretty hard to see inside of the Speidel without opening it.

Rack from Speidel 30L into Keg

Thanks guys, I ordered it. So with my 30L and a 5 gallon batch, the container is 1/2-2/3 full. How do I purge O2 out of the vessel, and at what time is best to do that? Any tricks about getting it into a keg, etc?
