    First Cider Carbonation Question

I just completed my first ever cider and kegged it a week ago. When I kegged it, I set the PSI at 30 for 24 hours and then bumped it down to 15 PSI for the remaining 6 days. I just went to pour my first glass and it is completely FLAT! There is not even one bubble in it. I have kegged 100's of...

Boil Kettle Placement in Electric System

I am in the middle of turning my guest bedroom into an electric brewery and need some advice/feedback on my BK placement before I mount my exhaust hood. For ventilation I am going to be placing the hood over the BK only but I would like the hood to be centered on the wall for aesthetic...

    Holy Smokes!!

You are correct! I did a pretty vigorous boil and ended up only putting about 4 gallons into the fermenter. I had read somewhere that a good rolling boiling was recommended for lagers so I had the heat pretty high on it.

    Holy Smokes!!

So I brewed what I thought was going to be a light american lager about 3 weeks ago. Today I kegged it and put it away for a month or so for lagering. The taste, color and clarity is spectacular but HOLY S%$#@!!! The ABV on it is telling me in the 7+ range and it definitely tasted like it. I'm...

PB2 - To Sanitize or Not to Sanitize?

I just did a chocolate peanut butter porter. 8 gallon batch which I added 2lbs of the PB2 powder and 1lb of the chocolate PB2 powder to the boil with 10 minutes remaining. I then dry hopped with cocoa nibs. This came out amazing! Heavy chocolate on the nose with a solid peanut butter taste...

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

Hey LL I really like the look of this recipe. I purchased the grains today for it. Any chance you can elaborate a little more on the recipe? Batch size? Mash time and temp? Ferm schedule? Also not quite sure how to break down the hop schedule by percentages. Any input on that? Newer to advanced...

What should I use to hop this beer??

Well brew day is complete and Decimotox's recipe won the coin flip. Everything went relatively well considering it was Friday the 13th. I say relative because my mash temp was a little low on this. It called for 153-155 but I was more like 150 on it. However I still hit the OG of 1.054 so I'm...

What should I use to hop this beer??

Thanks for the advice FatDragon. Yes I will be vacuum sealing them and they are always stored in the freezer. I know 9lbs is a little much but I'm not complaining when the wife buys it for me.

What should I use to hop this beer??

Thank you for your feedback on this. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow and will let you guys know how it goes. I like the look of both recipes so I think I'm just going to have to flip a coin and see which one I do. Thanks again for the advice as I am still a total noob. Also another quick...

What should I use to hop this beer??

Ok guys do this is my second time brewing and I have a Chico Pale Ale 5 gallon all grain kit that I bought from Great Fermentations. The 1st brew I did was a mosaic IPA and damn it was delicious. So now I am thinking I might want to turn this pale ale into an IPA. My wife bought me 9lbs of hops...
