    Brewing - day 1 question

    Hi, I have a MrBeer kit. I have 2 small questions: 1- the ingredients were slightly expired, it said best before August of this year. I took a chance anyways. Is it bad? 2- after maybe 14 hours of brewing, there is no foam, rather a pale brownish crust... is if normal?
