    Dark IPA?

Pale base malt, yet black from careful use of de-bittered black malt or carafa III. Hop as usual for an IPA. As munche said, Sublimely Self Righteous is incredible!

    plastic tubing instead of airlock?

It's used in case you have a massive fermentation that could clog and shoot beer, trub and said airlock all over the ceiling! After attenuation is reached, you can replace with airlock. Search for photos of the carnage - hilarious!

Tucson, AZ water profile results from water dept.

I don't believe boiling is necessary, BUT I may try the gas-off method suggested next time I brew. I have brewed many a beer with water right out of the tap. I believe my beer tastes pretty good. Saq has suggested other ways to treat the water and after meeting him I would say he is much...

Tucson, AZ water profile results from water dept.

Well I appreciate all the interest and insight into the fluctuations in our local swill. I've gleaned that the general consensus is that it's a good practice to either: Gas off the chlorine from the water and make water adjustments to the average readings per Chimone... Or, get some...

    WHere to buy malt/hops/etc...?

Go LHBS and if you can, negotiate the price. They will usually waive any shipping and you WANT to keep these guys in business. Unless the are terrible.
