I've not seen many recipes I like out there. Until I start designing my own. I'll use other's recipes. I'll be looking at beersmith too.

My fermentation has foamed out into my airlock. Once fermentation slows should I clean my airlock? The airlock water is full of wort. Would this be a possible contamination problem if I leave it?

I'm looking at making a Latuer Tun using a cooler. I'm having a little trouble finding the right type of cooler(24 qt rectangular) Do the 24 qt water cooler work OK for a 5 gallon batch?

I want to know a couple of things before I order the ingredients for this IPA. Is it calling for enough yeast. Also if there are not the exact ingredients what also could be used instead? 6.6 lbs light unhopped malt syrup 4 oz pale malt (toasted) 1 bl dark caramel malt 8 ounces...

I've made several brews using the kits. What is a good next step for home brewing. The guy at my Home Brew store seems to push the kits too much I think. Also does anyone know of a good on line store for ingredients for brewing?

I used a racking cain on the end of my siphon hose today. I really don't like it because due to the diameter of the cain the bottle will not fill up all the way. As you pull up it will shut off, so you can't fill it to within one inch from the top. What else is out there?

Has anyone used some other type of container to bottle from? I've started a second batch of IPA and don't have and extra pail to use. Home brew store is closed today.

I've got my beer in a carboy ready to be bottled. Do have to move it to a bottling bucket or can I mix the priming sugar in the carboy, then siphon strait to the bottles? I'm concerned about getting the sugar mixed up good if I leave it in the carboy.
