    Every brew tastes the same

This is the basic instruction of every kit I have used. I couldn't use a kit with separate hops as I don't have a boiler. This is why I am buying a new setup

    Every brew tastes the same

Thanks I will check them out before I make any final decisions. Hadn't heard of these tablets either so will be trying one of those next time. I'm guessing they're cheaper than 25 litres of bottled water lol 😀 Definitely going for an extract brew system of some type

    Every brew tastes the same

Thanks. Just had a look on their site, they have an extract brewing starter kit that I quite fancy. Includes a boiler and chiller all for £150 Reckon I'm going to get it on pay day

    Every brew tastes the same

I'm in Grimsby, England. Only one shop round here and that's where I've been using. I follow a shop on Facebook called get er brewed. They look quite good and can customise the kits

    Every brew tastes the same

Yep I'm just trying to find a better quality supplier. Might have to order from an online store. As per the last question about water, I do just use tap water. Didn't know this was a problem. I'll try using bottled water next time

Flars Each brew I have done i have used a different kit. The last one I did was a coopers dark ale but before that I cannot remember

    Every brew tastes the same

I love that spaghetti analogy 😀 The extract is already hopped apparently however maybe not enough. I think I am going to wait now until I can do my own recipe. I dry hopped my last batch but it was a waste of time and money, plus the hop bag will probably block my barrel at some stage...

Yooper so you're suggesting to do a boil/extract brew and to forget the kits?

    Every brew tastes the same

Brewmasher ok thanks I will take that in mind. How do I make a yeast starter please. Do you advise buying a separate yeast pouch instead of using the one that comes with the kit?

    Every brew tastes the same

I use "brewing sugar" from the homebrew shop (dextrose I think it is). Supposedly completely fermentable. It is nothing to do with fermentation time, I left this last batch in fermenter for 2 weeks and the gravity dropped from 1048 and steadied at 1008. That is fully fermented if you ask me

    Every brew tastes the same

Thank you for that. I was kind of hoping it would be the kits and not something I'm doing wrong 😀 I'm saving for a boiler this month so hopefully next month I will be posting a successful brew

    Every brew tastes the same

Literally every brew I have done tastes exactly the same so I must be doing something wrong. Either that, or kits just don't work properly which I can't see being true or nobody would buy them

    Every brew tastes the same

Ok so my process, as per the instructions 1. Heat the liquid extract can in warm water 2. While warming, sterilise all equipment 3. Pour extract into fermenter Bucket 4. Add 5 litres of boiling water and stir until all extract is dissolved 5. Top up to 23 litres with cold water, put the lid...

    Every brew tastes the same

Hello I have now done 5 home brew kits. Ranging from ipa to lager to dark beer. Every kit tastes the same. Sweet. Help me please or I am just going to give up
