Putting My CO2 Regulator Back Together...

I got a secondary regulator today, so I turned off the gas and disconnected my primary. I removed the high pressure gauge, and I'm all set to daisy chain the secondary to my primary, when I realized one is left hand threaded and the other is right hand. Argh! So I decided it was time to put it...

    Beer/Gas Line Question

I'm getting the parts for my keezer today, sans beer and gas line. The fittings on the shank for the beer line and my keg connectors are 1/4", and the gas fittings on the manifold and keg are 5/16". Now I'm reading that 1/4 is too big, and I should have gone with 3/16 - crap. Oh well, too late...

    Keezer Collar Question

I just have a quick question regarding the many keezers I've seen on this site. I've ordered the last of the parts I need for mine, so construction will start next week (the second the UPS guy leaves). Everything I've seen online so far has a 2x4 collar with a 2x6 around it. The 2x4 just sits on...

DIY Mash Tun - 7 Gal Rubbermaid Big Enough?

I can't seem to find 10 gallon Rubbermaid coolers anywhere, but I see online that Wal-Mart stocks the 7 gallon version. Is that big enough for a 5 gallon all-grain batch? I don't know how much room the grain takes up when you add it to the water, so while this might seem like a stupid question...

Let me preface this by saying I'm very new at this, so I appreciate all the help you folks provide :o I seem to have two conflicting sources of information regarding technique, and I'm wondering if there's a consensus on these issues. My local brew shop provides some basic brewing instructions...

    Help Deciphering Recipe?

I'm reading Wheeler & Protz's Brew Your Own British Real Ale, and it's a great source of information about brewing in general. I don't know much, I'm extremely new at this, but as I've read through, one thing's been nagging me. The recipes simply call for "Crystal malt." No mention of the...

    Substituting Hop Varieties

I'm mostly through reading Brew Your Own British Real Ale (Wheeler & Protz), which is a great read. In the chapter about hops, they discuss alpha acid in hops, and which hops are typically used at which stage in the brew process. I'm looking to brew a classic British bitter next, so I'm...
