    Forgot to take readings

Thank you very much for helping out. Glad I didn't make that huge of a mistake. I wasn't too far off from your estimate.

    Forgot to take readings

I made a rough estimate the juice was 1.05. I'm glad to know I wasn't off there. I estimated .035 (.038?) for the sugar. I'm not sure where I lost the .100 at in my calculation. Thank you for the very quick response. I'll have to go over your calculations to see where I made my error.

    Forgot to take readings

I'm using 1 gallon of Martinelli's 100% Apple juice, 2 cups of brown sugar, 1.3g of Red Star Montrachet yeast. Can anyone predict the OG?

    Floaters

So I went ahead and siphoned off a few ounces. It tastes great. A little sharp in flavor so I think I'm going to let it sit for a few more weeks to clear up then try again.

    Floaters

It's down to a bubble every 5 seconds. I don't want to rack too soon and ruin the fermentation.

    Floaters

Thanks everyone for your reply. There's a decent amount of activity now. Bubbles every 3-4 seconds through the airlock. Plenty of bubbles up to the surface. I have a catch pan under the jug in case things get out of hand.

    Floaters

I was under the impression cider doesn't require a lot of headspace. Am I mistaken?

    Floaters

I just started my first gallon brew and I have some floaters in the neck after 24 hours (no starter). I've attached a photo. Did I mess up somewhere?

    Mixing Batches

If I start fermentation on a 1 gallon batch on week 1 and I start a second 1 gallon batch on week 2 can I combine the second gallon to the first gallon a week later?

    Mixing Batches

I always make the exact same batch with the exact same recipe. My question is concerning mixing batches into a single storage. If my brews are offset by a week, meaning there's a week gap between harvest, is there any issue with filling the storage tank with each consecutive batch until its...
