    Hi All, Last week I bought 6 gallons of fresh, UV pasteurized cider. I put 5 in a carboy and it is fermenting well. Plan is 2 weeks in primary, two weeks in secondary, then back sweeten with the 6th gallon, and stove-top pasteurize after a couple days of carbonation. My question is, will that...

    Pot Met Sanitation of Carboy

    Hi All, Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but does a carboy need to be filled with liquid to sanitize it with potassium metabisulfite? That is what I have done in past, but I seem to recall reading on the forums somewhere that the vapor sanitizes, so actual liquid contact is not needed...

    Question for first attempt

    Hi All, I have about 15L of cider sitting in a large glass carboy, just put back in for secondary fermentation after adding small amount (~1/4 cup) brown sugar.
