    Pipe smoking, a lost art.

We've got a newage shop not too far away that carry some hand-made pipes a local fellow crafts. Funky, really long, wizardy looking pipes. Kinda like Gandolf's. He actually takes the time to burn all the way down the stem with a hot wire/rod.

    Video Games

POG! Me and my brother had quite the slammer collection. My prized slammer, was this heavy solid brass one. Was a ball with a flat disk on each end. Dropped it one game, missed the stack and cracked my brother's board in half. lol It was a mighty slammer!

    Comics

I used to be big into comics but got too expensive and took up too much space. And I got tired of chasing one DC story through several titles. Lol And all the relaunches. So any more I just collect the DC animated movies.

Wow what's you favorite brew ipa lager stout ect

I generally go for a good ol boring brown or amber. In particular anything with a good malty roasted character. They're just a consistent pleaser. Which makes a good ipa or stout a real treat since I'm not so accustomed to them. My hands down favorite, smoked beer. Specifically anything on...

    What's your favorite local/regional dish?

Does it count if the owner/cook brought their cooking with them? Cause we have an amazing Austrian place. The rinderrouladen is wonderful. Grand sausages, last time i was there was rabbit soup to be had. And then we have a great Korean place, loves me some bibimbap and a spicy eggplant...

    School bus memories.

I grew up between corn fields. Being stuck on a bus meant missing a lot of my cartoons. Lol

    Irish Whiskey

Sorry for a long overdue reply here, folks. You can never let price lead to the assumption that a product is inferior. Yes, it can be spot on. But sometimes a company is nice enough to not charge an arm and a leg for it. Then of course the ultimate deciding factor is your own tastes. I've got...

    Look a like craft brands.

I'm unfamiliar with Calsberg. Are they more akin to the likes of Bud, Coors, etc, over here? Beer that's just successful marketing to the bland pallet of the masses. I think it's funny how they say "craft inspired". There's a couple brands I see here that are either the soulless creation of...

    Favorite Rye Whiskey

My current favorite is Grand Traverse Distillery. Theirs is 100% rye(I'm a purist). It was really good, but I made the fiscally responsible choice and got the Rye Vodka. lol I think it liked Journeyman's Rye when I tried it. I'm gonna have to get a shot again. lol I'm thinking it seemed a wee...

    Irish Whiskey

Powers Irish Whiskey! I love it. Especially because it was complimentary. From an Irish pub owner, John, that just happens to be Irish himself. Celtic Crossings pub in downtown Chicago. In general I prefer Scotch. Single-malt Islay to be specific. I'm quite fond of peat smoke.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

A guy at work...."yeah man, those European beers average 20%"....... It took great effort on my part not to correct everything he'd been talking about.

    Men who sit to pee

Prof. Elemental wrote a song about that.... Internet words to live by. Now time for a tinkle. :mug:

    Ever infuse spirits yourself?

I did a cucumber lime vodka. I took the lime out after a couple of hours I didn't want to zest to make it too bitter. It was pretty good. However! I should have peeled the cucumber. The peel made it more bitter than I would have guessed. In regards to the hazelnut vodka. I'd recommend...

    Men who sit to pee

I'm always puzzled by this "less of a man" stuff. It's rather ironic that "men" tend to be fussy about such insignificant things. Wouldn't it be more "manly" to be true to yourself rather than such concern about if it's "manly" or not? That being said I stand, cause I do. As it's convenient and...

    Well met!

Greetings all. I've found my way into the forum here. I popped in and out once in a while ages ago(not recalling any of my former info). But I'm looking to get back in the scene a bit more. Especially, since I'm giving a serious shot at getting a blog up and running. Not purely beer related...
