I think i watched a beer smith podcast with chris white about pressure fermentation like last year maybe. They were talking about traditional lagering vs pressure fermenting at around room temp. Basically they said you can make a lager quicker by pressure fermenting i think and depending on the...

Dude what i just started doing is refrigerating a lot of tap water since i have more refrigerator space than freezer space. I have a 5 gallon water bottle and then use a bunch of gallon bottles. We use gallon jugs for babys formula milk so i have plenty. Even used a keg full of water once. I...

I already have a chiller and stuff in the top so my lid doesnt fit on my kettle very good anyway but itll keep some stuff out. Thats crazy about the water incident. Thats why i put two hose clamps on each end of my chiller. Dont want to take any chances

Well bending stainless isnt very easy unless you have a tubing bender. Idk if im going to try it. The spincycle on brewhardware has a clip that holds it on the side of the kettle. I just bought a 1/2 inch racking cane on amazon that has a clip on it and is only bent to 90 degrees so ill stick...

Hey has anyone ever built a whirlpool arm? Like a drop in whirlpool tube? I have a 90 degree elbow for whirlpooling but i want to add something to my second outlet hose from my pump. I want to be able to pick it up and stick it in a fermenter to transfer wort also. I prefer stainless. Was...

I dont believe it. It was 100 here on friday. Remind me never to even visit texas unless its like winter. Also, are you talking about your home brewery? It sounds more like a big brewery. Ive heard texas has hard laws for breweries. Idk i saw it in a documentary once, maybe the laws have changed...

Hey guys. I just wanted to say i went to the palmetto state brewers club meeting last night and had a blast! Got to meet some cool people and share some of my beer and got to talk a lot about beer. Drinking beer, meeting brewers and talking beer, almost as good as actually brewing! i guess i...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I always keg carb it. Take it easy though the dry liquid seems to soak up the c02 more quickly than beer. Ive overcarbed it before trying my normal quick carb procedure

Id think it would be fine to reuse the yeast. At least once maybe twice. Probably easier than harvesting and washing and it will probably get going faster since its already built up its colony. The only reason i havent tried this is because the yeast is cheap. Got a 10 pack for like $6 on amazon

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Hey everyone. So i made another batch of apfelwein and thought id share my results as its really good! Haha. So i started with somewhere close to 5 gal walmart apple juice and around 2 lbs corn sugar. Used the updated wine yeast formerly known as montrache. Lol and then added a lb of frozen...

I always cold crash my beers ever since ive been able to. Although im starting to wonder if the suck back through my air lock is hurting my beer. I tried capping my last batch of mango apfelwein instead of just moving the fermenter with the airlock into my freezer. It probably still sucked in or...
