    Rekorderlig clone?

Does anyone else have any experience using Lorannoils at all? Going to be doing a habanero cider and was looking at experimenting with adding some of their Mango or Pineapple oil. Try going for a Tropical Habanero cider.

    Yet Another Dry Hop Question

Awesome thanks for the input. I think I'll pick some more Amarillo up tomorrow. I'm wondering if 2ozs of Amarillo will be too fruity in mid 5% abv pale. Especially since it was fermented with Cali V, which produces fruity esters.

    Yet Another Dry Hop Question

Looking for advice on a dry hop schedule for a pale ale that just finished with primary fermentation. It's a Columbus, Cascade, Amarillo pale at about 30 IBUs. SG of 1.052 and finished at 1.009 with WLP051. I'll be kegging and serving it at an event on the 15th of September, so I have a little...

    Nice find!

    Montmorency Cherry Cider

Yeah this is what I'll do, I have several droppers that measure in mls. Thanks for the input!

    Thanks! :mug:

    Montmorency Cherry Cider

Sounds good, I'll start with 4 or 5 oz per 5gal and see how it tastes. Have you had any issue with the concentrate settling out in the keg? Ending up with uneven flavor among the pours?

    Montmorency Cherry Cider

Just finished fermenting two 5 gallon batches of cider (store bought AJ only), one with S-04 and the other with Nottingham. I picked up a bottle of Tart Montmorency Cherry Juice Concentrate and I'm trying to decide on how much to add. I saw a post on here a few years back where someone cloned B...

What I did for beer today

Yeah I fermented most of it around mid to high 70s ambient. Some nice peppery and spicy notes that really compliments the lemon peel. This will definitely be my house saison yeast from now on. I really wanna do a golden strong with it soon and see how it turns out.

    What are you drinking now?

I've heard good stuff about Cape May's beers. A buddy of mine did a trade recently and got a few of their Coastal Evacuation DIPAs, haven't tried it myself.

What I did for beer today

Racked my finished lemon peel Saison (dropped to either at or just below 1.000 with wyeast 3711 and a 149 mash, that yeast is a beast!) into a purged keg to let it get a little more age on it. I also have two ciders that should be through with primary (one Nottingham the other S-04) that I'm...

    Estimated Mash pH discrepancies (Bru'n Water/EZ Water/BrewCipher)

Thanks for the advice and input, everyone. Brewed yesterday and kind of took the average of a few water adjustment calculators. Did the average of the additions and estimated mash pH (5.38) and my pH meter read 5.3 at room temp on a sample taken 15 min into mash. Still in the process of dialing...

    Estimated Mash pH discrepancies (Bru'n Water/EZ Water/BrewCipher)

Thanks I really appreciate the detailed response. I do have a pH meter. I'll calibrate it again and see how close my particular system is getting me to some of these various options. Cheers.

    Estimated Mash pH discrepancies (Bru'n Water/EZ Water/BrewCipher)

Yes, I do have a pH meter. I'll do that, just didn't know if I could realistically expect better/more consistent results from either of the 3. I'll dial it in and see how consistent Bru'n is. Thanks!

    Estimated Mash pH discrepancies (Bru'n Water/EZ Water/BrewCipher)

Hey all, just wanted to get a few opinions/some feedback. I plugged the same grain bill, water additions, mash and sparge volumes (BrewCipher is slightly different), and starting water profile (100% RO/Distilled) into Bru'n Water/EZ Water/BrewCipher. The estimated Ca/Mg/Na/SO4/Cl concentrations...

    WLP051 possible failure

From White Labs site: "Recent sequencing studies show that WLP051 belongs to Saccharomyces pastorianus species, the same hybrid species as most lager strains. However, this strain has been used to make ales for decades and was previously categorized as belonging to Saccharomyces cerevisiae."

    WLP051 possible failure

How did your Citra IPA turn out? Just recently cold crashed a starter of WLP051 for an upcoming Cascade/Amarillo Pale that I'm brewing this week, and I'm curious how yours ended up. Edit: I will say that I had the starter at around 68-70 the whole time and it produced a nice, clean starter with...

Is this my first infected brew?

Thanks for the responses! I was hoping for the best, but it just had such an odd fermentation. Time to rack onto some barrel staves. Merry Christmas!

Is this my first infected brew?

Signs of infection or CO2 suspending yeast rafts? RIS at 20 days since pitching 1.5L starter. Edit: WLP001, really mild fermentation, first beer that I haven't observed visual activity in airlock.

White coating on the inside of CO2 line?

Thanks for the responses! Yeah I could see Star San causing it, but the line hasn't come into contact with any sanitizer internally, and I do have a check valve on the regulator.
