    028 Edinburgh Ale Yeast suggestions

I typically use the WLP 028 Edinburgh Ale Yeast for my strong Scottish Ale. Any suggestions for a smaller beer to make using this yeast? I was thinking English style IPA or an ESB.

I own a Victorian Duplex built in 1900. It's got an unfinished basement that works well with running my brewing operation. Last we my tenant acidentally turned the heat on, now the basement is about 85-90f and the pipes have remained warm all week. I opened all the windows to vent out the hot...

Any drawbacks to the Bayou Classic SQ-14?

I'm researching a new burner for my setup and it looks like everyone who owns a Bayou Classic SQ-14 is pretty happy with it. Seems to be a very cost effective solution without having to build something. For those that use it, have you noticed any drawbacks? Anyone want to stear me away and...

    Sanitized cornie filled w/CO2?

There was a sanitation question flying around here recently concerning how long something stays sanitized. This got me thinking...If my cornie is clean, and I sanitize it with iodophor, empty the keg, and then push enough CO2 into the keg to pressureize it, would my cornie remain Sanitized?

Cold Crashed Belgian Strong Golden Ale

I brewed a Belgian strong golden ale. It started out at 1.072 and I let it go to 1.014 before cold crashing it. Now I'm thinking I should have let it go a little further before putting the brakes on it. While it falls within the BJCP guidelines, I'm wondering if this is going to taste too sweet...

What's in your Strong Scottish Ale?

I truly love the taste of Old Chub by Oskar Blues. It's one of my favorite beers. I'm really not a malt fanatic, but this beer is so choice. I have decided to build a recipe and brew something like Old Chub. While in the process of doing my research for a grain bill I discovered that they...
