    AB InBev Sells Northern Brewer

Just to clarify, I did not, and still don't, have that hate for BMC that many others share around here... I do remember my daily drive by this billboard that picked fun at craft beer whilst advertising Bud. I don't remember the details but it depicted a glass of beer garnished with what looked...

    AB InBev Sells Northern Brewer

I started with AIH and NB. Still pretty loyal to AIH but I distinctly remember deleting my NB bookmark the day I heard about the acquisition. I was still an extract brewer at the time. If things go well I will consider NB again or at least shop their sales.

Does Beersmith have a brew log?

Well I think that about sums it up. Thank you all for your input. It seems that BS does what I want just not in the way I expect or prefer. But I might stick with it just because the recipe creation seems superior to everything else I've used. I'm still using the trial version so I will play...

Does Beersmith have a brew log?

I can copy/paste each recipe and append the brew date to the recipe name and use folders to organize. That's good to know. Now, is there any dedicated place where I can record things like preboil SG, OG, FG, and anything that could differ from Beersmith's estimations... or is this info something...

Does Beersmith have a brew log?

Does Beersmith have a brew log in compliment to the recipe designer? I've been playing around with different software and one thing I really like about Brewtarget is that you can right-click the recipe and choose a brew date from a calendar; this creates a "child" recipe log where you can input...

$20 ingredient kits at Adventures in Homebrewing

A mini-mash would be best but I would at least use some fresh DME rather than dextrose. Some fresh hops is a good idea too.

    Movie quote game

Sheldon? No, you didn't have great $ex with 'Sheldon'. A Sheldon can do your income taxes. If you need a root canal Sheldon's your man, but humping and pumping is not Sheldon's strong suit... It's the name. Do it to me 'Sheldon', you're an animal 'Sheldon', ride me big 'Sheldon'. Doesn't work.

    Movie quote game

Correct! One of my all-time favorites. I recognized the Mr. and Mrs. Smith line but unfortunately wasn't able to place it.

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

I think the reason a lot of brewers are stubborn about this topic is because their self value as a hobbyist is reflected by the time and money spent. I don't mean to strike a nerve with any of those brewers but not all of us need that recognition. I know by now everyone must be sick of...

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

Ultimately, each brewer will have to decide for them self whether they're saving money or not. Even when you factor in time - because each brewer can decide for them self what their time is worth. The real challenge I have for many brewers out there is how much money have you put towards...

No carbonation - any recourse or just dump?

How many bottles are we talking here? I would test it with just a few bottles first. Imagine all that time uncapping, syringe injecting, recapping 40+ bottles. With a few bottles you only lose 4-7 days. If it works, you can drink those beers while you fix the rest. If it doesn't work, you can...

Story Time - How did you get into brewing and craft beer?

Like many, I didn't know the spectrum of beers went beyond the cheap, mass produced lagers. As much as I don't like to admit, I once considered Budweiser my favorite beer. One day I found myself at a microbrew-restaurant that didn't serve commercial beer. I ordered the house IPA without even...

Stone Brewing sues MillerCoors for Trademark Infringement

Legal stuff aside, I think it's wise for Stone to protect their name. They have to act as the "dark horse" to defend their title as a competitor in the same market.

It's basically impossible to get drunk from sub 6% beers

This last summer I finished a sixer of 9% imperial brown. I had the bed spins and had to groan myself to sleep. I think what you have is better than the alternative.

So I went and got my Super Bowl haul this morning. This was in the same location as what I mentioned before...

    The Price of Craft Beer

Not anymore, I always get dirty looks when I try to stuff six 22oz bombers in a create-a-sixer. They're on to me.

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

Imagine if we took the negative responses towards homebrewing and redirected them towards other hobbies... "I'm a gourmet chef." "Cool. Can you make a Big Mac?" (analogous to the Bud Lite response) "I'm a gardner." "But you could just buy fruits and vegetables at the store. You're just looking...

    The Price of Craft Beer

I once saw this 12oz going for ~$12 US. I almost bought it just to see what a $12 serving of beer tasted but I'm probably glad I passed. Maybe if you and some friends go in on it it will sting less at these price points.

    Star San Safety

There's enough scientific assurance above without me parroting what others have said but I also like to remind people that Starsan has been in use for 23 years in breweries, dairy farms and the food industry. I've already accepted the health risks associated with alcohol but if you find...
