    2 ssr 1 pid

In my fuse box the bare wire going to my range rect goes to ground.

    2 ssr 1 pid

I have 3 wire 220v, 110v, 110v and ground. So I have to use ground for neutral is that a problem?

    2 ssr 1 pid

I'm just going to get rid of 1 ssr and use a spdt mechanical relay to do switch. Thanks for all the comments.

    2 ssr 1 pid

I'm using this in a single pot to mash and boil. I thought it would be good to back power down on mash.

    2 ssr 1 pid

That's what I worried about. Maybe someone will ring in that knows.

    2 ssr 1 pid

Will this work using a pid and a switch to go from 220v to 110v on element? I will auto tune on 110v.

    BIAB build help

I could choke the pump but wondered if that would limit life of pump since it is larger than normal chugger. I was going to build controller around auber 2362 and timer to be used for different functions. And what about turning elements to 110v during mashing? I'm just trying to build this as...

    BIAB build help

What I have done is I put 2 3kw elements in a 13 gal pot. I was wondering if I should have a switch to change to 110v on elements during mashing. Now I have food grade pump twice the size of the regular chugger pumps to cycle wort through chiller and back into pot until it reaches desired temp...

    ssr and variable ssr

Scenario 1 you are doing on voltage side. I'm wanting to do it on pid and pot side with regular dpdt. Can this be done?

    ssr and variable ssr

Why can't you wire ssr and ssvr to element and use dpdt switch to select between pid and pot?

    ssr and variable ssr

Yes that what I'm trying to do and understand what you are saying. I was just trying to get around having to adjust pid when I flip over to manual.

    ssr and variable ssr

I'm wanting to use a solid state relay to close terminals on the pot side of ssvr. But ssr don't close like a mechanical relay but they need voltage. Is there one that doesn't?
  13. G

    ssr and variable ssr

What kind solid state relay would work as a normal open or close switch since there will be no voltage just a open and close circuit.

    ssr and variable ssr

I'm wanting to use a variable relay with pot. But also have ssr wired to variable relay. I'm going to have a switch that I can switch between relays. Can I do this wont the variable relay come on full when the other relay shorts across the pot side of variable relay?

    220V 50HZ pump motor

I'm actually wondering about a refrig compressor and a chugger pump. The pumps just say 220v 50hz and compressor says 220-240v 50hz 1phase.

    220V 50HZ pump motor

Will 220v 50hz Chinese pump motor work on US 220v 60hz?

    breaker and estop

    Okay contactor it is. Thanks

    breaker and estop

So using a contactor is better. I have had contactors melt and stick before. So which way is better? So if I use 3phases breakers with dedicated neutral can I use a 110v leg and not trip on 110v device?
  19. G

    breaker and estop

Ok if I use a 3phases breakers with dedicated neutral can I trip that with external switch? Thanks

    breaker and estop

They are ELCB Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker which I assume is a gfi.
