    FastFerment Conical Fermenter Problem

I have 4 FF. I seldom get to a point where I have to use the third or fourth. When I’m done cleaning them, I always spray the inside down with Star San and seal them up just like I do my legs. The idea is they will be clean and sanitized when ready to use. Today I noticed two of my FF had mold...

    PID for boil

Ok. Looks like a cheap fix. It’s a three wire vs my K type which has a two wire. Anything I need to know wiring this up?

    PID for boil

I think u meant 212. I calibrated the temp probe in ice water and adjusted the PUF setting +2 degrees. What am I missing here. It’s driving me nuts!!

    PID for boil

Claw hammer sells a 15 Amp controller they use to run a 1650 Watt element. They claim it will achieve a rolling boil if the lid is on and the vessel is insulated. Which mine is. I seem to only achieve a small boil. Last night I set it at 230F and it got up to 220F with a small boil. I ran it...

    PID for boil

I built a MYPIN TA4 PID controller for my claw hammer eBIAB. I built my own since I had a 20A circuit and wanted to use a 2000 watt element. I’ve brewed several times with it. I’m having trouble achieving a roiling boil. Maybe I don’t understand the logic. Why can’t I just set the controller to...

    DIY Fastferment Stand

I’m getting back into home brewing. I thought I’d share a stand I made from a couple moving dollies from Harbor Freight.

Check the R-value of the insulation. The higher the R-value means better insulation value. Ridged foam is usually better in tight applications. Make sure ur joints are caulked very good to stop air loss.

Why not try to layer a couple more layers of foam around the coffin to see what that will do to ur temps? I like ur setup.

The fans run 24/7. I'm not sure the CFM. They are 5 inch fans I believe.

MusicalBrewer. I agree with you that the key to keeping to coffin top cool is drawing the air from the bottom of the Keezer. I could add a hose to fix the problem. Good luck with ur build. I've run probably 20 kegs through mine since last summer. BTW, John Guest fittings for quick disconnects...

AGREED!!! I was trying to keep the build height as short as possible. I saved 2" by using the smaller wheels. It's hard to move the Keezer when full of kegs. I'll jack it up and put bigger wheels on it at some point.

Monitored inside the coffin top. The only way I can think to improve the temp difference is to buy new fans with a higher CFM rating

I have two fans going and two inches of dense foam insulation insulation. All joints were caulked there is a 15 degree difference and I get foam on first pour. Flow control taps fix that but still not wanted

    Please read. Need help!!!

I'll try to make this short. I built a Keezer and purchased an Inkbird controller. Everything was humming along for a couple months until I came home to frozen kegs one day. I had the thermostat probe taped to the inside wall. I assumed the frost line was getting to the probe and throwing of the...

    Barnwood Keezer

I used tin from a barn for the top and backsplash. Here's a schematic to rewire the thermostat I found on this forum. It really was easy. The hardest part was pulling the new thermometer lead through the bottom of the freezer. It's an Inkbird which reads in Fahrenheit. I've included some more...
