HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

A VPN creates a tunnel that will allow a device on a remote network to connect back to your home network like it was sitting right there. Then you can do everything remotely that you can do at home. Port forwarding might give you less headaches. However, that option is a bit scary to me -...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Thank you so much! I also just realized that I guess I made a run called "test" earlier, so if I had named it something else it would have started fresh... Here's a pic of my test water ferment, I am using an old kegerator and a seedling mat wrapped around a 6.5 gallon bucket with about...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I searched around a bit but maybe couldn't describe my question correctly to find an answer. I built a brewpi months back but never got around to testing it. Last night I filled a bucket fermentor with water and took brewpi for a test drive. It's been running in idle mode for 10 days now, I...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I finally got this all working with a pretty non-typical setup. I'm running Windows Server 08 in a virtual machine - this hosts my website already in IIS. I dropped brewpi into IIS and password protected it so everyone can't (hopefully) mess around with my stuff remotely I got the brewpi hex...

    Dual Regulator Leak

Hey guys I have a dual regulator that has a slow leak after the first regulator. I've attached a picture with an arrow to the leak area. It's slowly fizzing out around that old (teflon tape?) white stuff. I've never taken apart a regulator - should I get a wrench and try to open it...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Ok guys I'm diving in. I bought everything mentioned except for the Raspberry Pi. I have a VM running Windows Server 2008 for my web server at home that I should be able to use - I installed all the PHP/Python libraries and I'm getting a test page of BrewPi with some canned data on IIS. I'll...

    Regulator question

If it was a leak you'd probably be out of co2 by now, it really pisses away overnight Are you "locking" in the adjustment dial? Maybe its slipping. Or simply as Bishop suggested the tank isn't open

    New regulator not working correctly

If you leave it in the on/open position, have you tried slowly turning up the dial? Maybe it's actually at 0 or something low. I'd hook it up to the keg and see what it does, it'll have something pushing back on it and you'll be able to tell us the symptoms better

    Skeeter Pee

I have kegged two batches of SP and neither time did I backsweeten. I made a big batch of simple syrup and just let people sweeten it to taste. It's not too bad dry, I used 71b yeast maybe that's why. It's almost like Sauvigon Blanc when it isn't backsweetened It's nice to have on hand dry...

    15 Gallons of Apfelwein

I racked 3 batches to a 15 gallon keg, letting that bulk age for a while. It's been 6 months since I made it and I'm testing my patience on diving into the half keg

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I have 3 batches of this going right now. The oldest is 3 months old, the youngest is about 1 month old. I want to siphon all these to a 15 gallon keg and let them all bulk age in there. Does that make sense or should I let them age individually on their own lees?

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

    28,343.5 (fixed pilotgarren's math - he's probably had too much apfelwein) + 15 = 28,358.5

    Skeeter Pee

I don't know what my level was, it was about 5 psi or so, just enough to push it out. Slowly got more sparkling as it sat on tap. I liked it bubbly, but it didnt last long enough to get really carbed up :tank: I didn't backsweeten mine at all, we liked the dry sauvignon blanc-ish type...

    Skeeter Pee

Thanks for the welcome! So just to clarify something -- I read that I can start a new batch right on top of the Skeeter yeast cake. I'm confused about that - does that mean once I rack off this cloudy pee for the first time, is the remaining sediment in the primary my "yeast cake" - or is the...

    Skeeter Pee

Hey guys, I've been lurking forever on here and decided to chime in here. I'm a total n00b, but I've recently thrown a Skeeter Pee together. I decided to just toss everything in all at once from the recipe (all the juice, all the nutrients, tannin, energizer, and sugar) and topped off to about...
