    Men who sit to pee

Several years ago I looked in my bathroom with a black light. Urine spray everywhere: on the walls, floors, vanity, etc. I decided then it was time to sit. Only at home, though. Seems to be less cleaning needed. No more unsightly build up around the toilet base bolt caps or lid hinges...

    The Efficient Brewer

Great article, thank you for the work you put in! As far as the meniscus, in college I was taught to read at the bottom. However, I believe that being CONSISTENT is the key. Those that prefer to read from the top, keep at it and don't change! Those that prefer to read from the bottom, keep at it...

    pasteurizing beer to back sweeten

I would check this thread out, if you haven't already. I followed it to pasteurize some rice wine that I wanted to stay sweet. It also talks about back sweetening, letting it ferment until carbed, then pasteurizing in the bottle to keep the bubbles, keep the sweetness, and stop the fermentation...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I started writing a novel, deleted it, and now will be straight to the point. Recipe: Cream of Three Crops Second time BIAB'er With miscalculations, I ended up boiling the wort for 3 1/2 hours instead of 90 minutes. Hops ended up boiling for 60 min, removed and the boil had to continue...

    Pump size for chiller recirculation?

I use one of these: http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/product/t500-500gph-12-volt I can run it off a battery or an AC/DC converter. I used a rubbermaid tub filled with ice water to cool ~12 gallons of wort from boil to 65 in ~20 min. I can hook my cooler to the garden hose or the pump...

    Cleaning lines and keg

I am BRAND NEW, and everyone on this site is smarter than me, but this is basically what I have done: I watched a few youtube videos about cleaning and sanitizing corny kegs. And I have done a lot of reading on this site. I built a line cleaner following these instructions...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I used flaked rice. Thought about using minute rice but since my LHBS had flaked on hand I got it.

Show us your DIY wort chillers

WOW! There are some amazing immersion chiller builds out there! I just made a simple one, for a simple mind! I had an extra bilge pump from my boat, 12 VDC, found a AC adapter on sale to run it from the house outlet, and plumbed it in to my immersion cooler. The cooler is 25' ofd 3/8...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I brewed this recipe up a few weeks ago. I used flaked corn and rice and used the BIAB method. This was my first all grain batch. I got a surprising 1.053 OG (11.5 gallon final volume) and today I got a 1.010 FG after 23 days in fermentation. So this should be a 5.64% ABV light beer! Loved...

    Duffle Bag Brew Bags

I fretted with the style of bag myself. I went with the curved bottom, or tear drop shaped. It worked great for me, no spilling over the edge. Made it myself with cheap polyester voile curtains. Basically got the width that closely matched my pot circumference, sewed it into a long tube, then...

adding a sampling spigot to my fermenter?

^^^This was a "doh" moment for me! Have a bottling bucket sitting unused since I am kegging, but now it is my new fermenting bucket! :D

    Kegged My First Batch Today!

I am addicted and ready to start another batch!:mug: Just got finished kegging (corny keg) my first batch, a SCBS Blonde Ale. Taste seemed really good, nice and dry with some bitterness and hops aroma. I need to work on my racking skills because I picked up some yeast. Also the first inch...
