How long did it take you to go all-grain?

By my 3rd brew I was doing all grain and have not looked back since. I like being able to tinker all I want with my recipes.

How often do you guys brew?

I try to do 3 5 gallon batches every month. Between my GF and I and giving away some to friends we can easily go through a 5 gallon batch in 2 weeks. Best to keep on top of it and keep a variety around.

Leftover PBW in my mash tun :(

In these quantities yes. I've used a lb or so before. Pretty common with wheat?

Leftover PBW in my mash tun :(

I got my terminology messed up. The foam/bubbles were at the top of my collected wort

    Fly vs Batch

I batch sparge and constantly hit 80% efficiency with very little effort having to be put in.

Leftover PBW in my mash tun :(

Tasted like wort to me and looked just fine. Just unsure why there would have been bubbles on top of my wort after I drained it unless it was from the PBW.

Leftover PBW in my mash tun :(

I've brewed about 10 batches so far and have had no issues until yesterday. I brewed an AG hefe and noticed something when I was sparging from my mash tun...there were white bubbles/foam on top of my wort. I thought that I had thoroughly rinsed out my mash tun after cleaning it with PBW but...

    rehydration necessary for s-04?

I rehydrate every dry eyast I've used and they can easily finish a 1.07 beer with no issue. Not sure if the same would happen if I just sprinkled it in

    Home brew give you gas?

All beer no matter what the source is makes me rip ass... then again I am a gassy person so no more really than usual.

First brew day in the books

I think you would be a lot safer just doing primary for 3 weeks and then putting it in to bottles. If this recipe requires dry hopping you can still do that in primary. No point in doing secondary unless it is for increased clarity, which to me does not effect the flavor or anythign besides...

Bottling my first batch - hefeweizen

I've bottled above 4 volumes without issue. If you are afraid of it being too carbonated you couldu se 4 oz of corn sugar for your 4 gallon batch, although I think that 3 volumes sounds pretty good.

how to raise air temps during fermentation

I've used a space heater, it worked well but the huge downside comes when you get that electric bill at the end of the month.

    Hop question for my Hefe...

So I'm trying somethign out with my Hefe that I'm making this weekend and want to add a citrusy taste to it. I have Chinook hops already (12.5 AA) and was wondering what my hopping schedule should look like for an ounce of them? I was thinking .25 @ 30, 10, 5, 1. Will this make it too high in...

    How did you Start Brewing?

Girlfriend's stepdad gave us all of his old brewing equipment: Bottling bucket, glass carboys, caps, bottles. We started off with an extract batch on the stove top, next batch we had purchased a kettle and burner and did a partial, by the third batch we had moved to AG and have not looked back...

    Saaz / Styrian Goldings

I used some Saaz in a Simcoe and Chinook IPA that I made. It turned out really good

I need to go cheap on my mash tun

I batch sparge with a rectangular cooler as a mash tun and I frequently get 80% efficiency, nothign wrong with it.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm doing a Fresh Squeezed IPA clone this weekend. Hoping it turns out well, first time using Mosaic hops so I'm excited to check them out and see how they taste/smell
