Kitchen tap build: best way to cool keg lines

I told her she could do whatever she wanted with the kitchen if I got two taps. Easy deal lol! I have considered that (see point C) but I would lose the entire corner since the space between the stairs and the cabinet is quite small, smaller than it looks on picture. As a result I wouldn't be...

Kitchen tap build: best way to cool keg lines

Hi all We will renovate our kitchen soon, this renovation will open up a lot of countertop area. I have convinced my girlfriend two install 2 beer taps on the wall of the new kitchen extension. Below is an image of the new kitchen area: As you can see, the taps will be installed above the...

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi all Kegged today and poured the first one. Here's how it looks: Although it's very early, here's my first feedback feedback. Visual: - Love the colour, the colour of Golden Promise really shines through here. Also, it has a nice haziness without the murkiness - Not much head but that...

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi Dgallo Thanks alot for the feedback! Yes, I wanted citrus but in my opinion right now it's lacking complexity because the citrus is a bit overpowering. Perhaps I should completely drop Cascade for the dry hop and replace with the other two varieties? Regarding the apple character: yes, I...

    Belgian Blond Ale

Get rid of the Centennial and the Cascade hops, it doesn't belong in Belgian Tripels. Fruity flavours come mostly from the yeast, check which temperatures you need to get a specific flavour profile from the yeast. Increase the corn sugar content, I would go for at least 10%. Mash profile looks...

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi all This beer is still in the fermenter right now and I'm planning on dry hopping tomorrow. I tasted the beer, it's OK but it has a bit too much citrus/apple to my liking and not enough complexity in the hop profile. Is this because of the combination Hornindal Kveik + the hops? Should I...

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi Dgallo, is it a good idea too add the outflow of the Grainfather wort pump inside the hop spider and let the wort flow through the hops and the spider back into the tun and then recirculate again? Or is that too much?

Dry hopping with Fermzilla fermenter (no pressure fermentation)

Hi all I use the Fermzilla as my fermentation vessel, I do not use it (yet) for pressurized fermentation but use the included airlock. Next week, I'm going to brew a NEIPA which includes dry hopping during the last 3 days of fermentation. Since this beer style is very sensitive to oxygen I...

Thanks for the great tips all!

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi I made some changes to the water and hop profile: Ca2+ 105 Mg2+ 24 Na+ 8 Cl- 188 SO4- 95 HCO3- 16 Cl to SO4 ratio is now 2:1 This is the new hop profile, taking into account we prefer it less agressive :) Hops (6.84 oz) 0.53 oz (5 IBU) — Cascade 5.5% — Boil — 5 min 0.53 oz (10 IBU) — El...

First stuck mash on Grainfather: what did I do wrong?

Hi Knox I tried stirring but it did not really help. It was very difficult to stir with my plastic "spoon" though, so I will invest in thick rubber gloves. The Grainfather is the classic G30 version. This was a small 3 gallon batch and I was almost at the limit of the Grainfather's capacity...

First stuck mash on Grainfather: what did I do wrong?

Porridge like I was afraid to burn whatever was at the bottom of the grainfather and damage the machine. In hindsight, this does not make sense because there was circulation, just not through the grain bed. How do you condition your grains?

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi Gusso Forgot to mention that this NEIPA would be a bit less agressive on the hops because my girlfriend isn't fond of very hoppy beers. So let's say 75% hoppiness compared to a normal NEIPA. Would you still increase hops to 1 oz each?

Feedback on my NEIPA with Kveik recipe

Hi all Since my last RIS failed today, I'm going to brew something else next weekend. I'm in the mood for someting blond and hoppy, so I was thinking of doing a NEIPA. Below's the recipe for my NEIPA using Kveik yeast. Any feedback? Especially the water parameters, since I'm not sure which...

First stuck mash on Grainfather: what did I do wrong?

Also, comments about improving the recipe are welcome :D The goal was to create a stout with plenty of caramel and chocolate flavours and some hints of bourbon. Little to no smoke/roast flavour and light to moderate mouthfeel.

First stuck mash on Grainfather: what did I do wrong?

Hi all Today I tried brewing my first RIS on the Grainfather, unfortunately I was unable to complete brew day because of a stuck mash. Homebrewing life lesson learned I guess :) I'm pretty sure that if I had used rice hulls, I wouldn't have had any problems, but could someone have a look at my...

    Need help with water additions

Yep, that is correct! :) Although I believe it's better to use the acid for sparge water only, so the sparge water pH will be lower then mash water's?

    Need help with water additions

Hello Our town has it's own water source. This is the analysis from the government: Calcium: 43 Magnesium: 20 Sodium: 83 Chloride: 28 Sulfate: 47 CaCO3: 160 (I calculated this from 16 French degrees) Bicarbonates: 195 (I calculated this from CaCO3) pH: 7,8 I then dilute this with 50%...
