    Unibrau V3

I just came across this thread and being the owner of Brau Supply, allow me to introduce myself. I absolutely respect Augie's perspective that DIY is a valid option, and I'm happy to support that. However there have been untruthful statements made by Augie about us, and I'd like to address this...

We are now using a new pump that has a steel body and is 120V. Pictures should be up soon.

Hey guys! I just wanted to weigh in here. The 1/4" silicone seal is meant to be just tight enough to hold the probe in place. Not so tight that it compresses, as you'll be removing it from time to time to clean the system. Also, regarding the barb installation, check out the assembly video...

Taking a chance like selling something that was unauthorized from someone else just isn't my cup of tea. I'm guessing that it would be tough to make a profit as well considering I'm selling them at the same price as Brew-Boss. Darin customized the controller too to work with our Unibräu Pro...

    Brau 120V 20A or High Gravity EBC-LT 120V? Help!!

Oh and I should add 2000W elements to come soon.

    Brau 120V 20A or High Gravity EBC-LT 120V? Help!!

Oh, and the ink bird stuff, I'm sure it works fine, but I haven't found a controller that handles 15A which is what you need to control a 1500W element. The only controllers to my knowledge that can actually switch a 1500W element are the ranch ETC and the Johnson controllers. Auber has a few...

    Brau 120V 20A or High Gravity EBC-LT 120V? Help!!

Hey Guys! I haven't trolled the forums for a while and I really appreciate the healthy debate. And Auggie, I like it when you spar with others instead of me! lol. Hey, I'm planning on posting how to build it yourself, as Auggie says, it's not that complicated. I'm trying to make a business...

    Why a a Grainfather over....

It seems maybe a bit late to jump in, but I didn't see this thread earlier so here goes! My 2 cents... The reason you are pumping wort, is for optimum temperature control. It moves the wort around the vessel. Because of this exchange of wort, the PID can react faster therefore keeping...

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Hi to all who've been reading. I'm terribly sorry for any radio silence that occurred, as I care about the customer experience and pride myself on replying in short order. I actually took the family on a much needed vacation Aug 19 and dragged the new trailer along and left the laptop at...

I'm out of town but I'll try and find out my boil off #'s. Off the top of my head I think around 1.8L per hour

Hmm.. I agree. DC motor speed controllers are correct for the application if you did feel the need. Again, I just use the ball valve and it hasn't cavitated even once. You could just install another ball valve on the outflow of the pump to satisfy? I have another question for you all...

Very good! Sounds like it's working great. I have to be honest, I have never bottled even one beer. I started with kegging and also haven't tackled the chill haze issue. I do a cold crash to 35 for 24 hours when fermentation is complete and right before I keg. Supposedly that helps with...

I have a question for you all. Should I be supplying hose clamps with the systems? I haven't for ease of cleaning and didn't find more than the odd drip but if you are experiencing more than that I will definitely make the change.

I throttle the pump from the ball valve of the kettle. No problems whatsoever. I haven't had any cavitation from these pumps as they don't pull so hard like a chugger would.

I think it means that beyond the 170deg even though it is still food safe the tubing could fail or deform. I once tried to chill some wort with latex based tubing and even though it was food safe to 212 it blew up like a balloon! Not good...

    Mini brau controller capability

I'm not quite sure what the worry of "dead space" is? You mean that space underneath the grain basket? My interpretations are this: You are recirculating the mash so there really isn't any dead space. It's all moving at a decent rate maximizing enzyme interaction with your grain by bringing...

    Mini brau controller capability

I personally can't find any downsides to pumping. With the element underneath, or in a rims tube not much difference there at all. Wort is being passed by an element in both situations using a pump. An upside though is very clear wort:)

    Mini brau controller capability

I totally agree with you. I recirculate during the entire mash process for this reason. I conducted an experiment and drilled my test kettle for an additional probe near the element and found that with the pump running the probe temps were within 1/2deg of each other. Without a pump running...

    PID Parameter help

I don't disconnect any of the fittings until boil but yes there is always a little spill for sure when you pull apart a fitting. To minimize spillage I close the ball valve and disconnect the tubing at the lid only. I remove the lid and keep the tubing female connect end over the lid of the...
