    The "Greatest Hits" Keezer Build

I purchased a 11.0 CU FT freezer and I can only put in 4 kegs if the CO2 tank is inside. If I take the tank out, I may be able to fit 1-2 more.

    Wort Volume

Hi, I've been brewing a few recipes where it called to collect 6.25 gallons of wort pre-boil. After I'm done the 60 minute boil and chill it to 70F, I'm left with 4.5 gallons when the recipe says I should have 5.25 gallons. My question is, will adding more volume pre-boil affect my OG...

    Stale Ingredients?

Thanks for all the info. So the general consensus is to refrigerate of freeze hops, as well as refrigerate yeast. In my situation, I haven't refrigerated my hops and yeast. They have been kept in my basement at about 70F. Should I still use them in my upcoming brew day?

    Stale Ingredients?

Hi, I ordered some pre-milled grains about a month and a half ago. They have been sitting in a closed bag stored in 18C room out of sunlight. Same as the hops and dry yeast. My question is: Is it possible that the malt and hops be "stale" after sitting there for so long?

    Wyeast Smack Packs

Hi, Last Friday, I was brewing several batches of beer. I had a Wyeast Liquid yeast which was one of those smack packs. Anyways, the directions say to "Smack" the pack several hours before pitching it, so I did. The only problem is, I didn't come around to brewing it. My question is...

    Cotton Steeping Bags for Hops

Hey everyone, So I purchased three cotton steeping bags with drawstrings in hopes that I can put my hops in it during my boil. Is this going to work? I bought the bags because I hated having hop residue at the bottom of my kettle. I'm hoping with these bags I can straight pour my boiled...

    Boiling in extreme cold temperatures

Ok, I see. So when boiling, technically all that's evaporating is water? At the end of the boil, if I've boiled off more than I wanted to, then that just basically concentrates the wort more? So if my final boil volume comes to 4.5 gallons, I could just add 0.5 or 1 gallon of dechlorinized...

    Boiling in extreme cold temperatures

Hey, so I live in Northern Canada, where average temperatures in February usually find themselves in the -30*C without windchill. It's extremely cold here and I have a few questions about boiling in this type of weather. 1 - I seem to be losing a lot of wort through the boil, I lose about 1...

    Sparging

OK. So how long do you stir once the sparge water has been added?

    Sparging

Hey! I have a few questions about sparking. First off, which form of sparging is the easiest for a beginner and yields the best efficiency? I've done an all-sparge previously, but I feel like I missed out on a couple of gallons of mash liquid. I've watched some people do continuous...

    Hop replacements?

Hi! The recipe I'm following for an English Pale Ale calls for 2 1/2 ounces of Challenger Hops. I can't seem to find them at my preferred outlet. What kind of hops I could replace them with? Thanks!!!
