    Two bad things about kegging

I built my cooler with a two tap tower out of a small stand up freezer. I have room for 4 maybe 5 1/6 barrel sankes. My wife cleaned and helped move it to the bottom of the stairs, from the kitchen, next to thedoor to the garage. With all the beer glasses on top, its too easy to grab a beer as I...

    Hi temp liquid tubing

They do make a titanium cured tube for food/medical use, but in their literature it states that in general silicone is safe for use in food and beverage lines.

    I enjoy smoking and grilling.....

No heat shield, the white is aluminum like the rest of the enclosure... its like soffit but placed vertically. Since its only a smoker, I have never had to get it over 350F usually its running at 225f. I can touch the outside of it without getting burned, and there is a 8" gap at the rear so no...

Will this work as a plate chiller?

    I enjoy smoking and grilling.....

A few more I found.... Ribs and little ones first crack at them... One dry, one wearing a maple syrup/chipoltle glaze Pic of the gas smoker in its new home. I sealed the door with fireplace gasket, hung cement board on the 3 interior walls to increase the thermal mass...

    I enjoy smoking and grilling.....

Been smoking for a while, here a few pics from past cooks. I used to use a cheap offest that I modified to work better with more temp stability, but now I use a 40" gas smoker in my carport that I have exhausted through the wall. It makes smoking in the snow, rain and wind easier. Here is a...

Will this work as a plate chiller?

Yes brand new. Never saw any liquid out side of manufacturing. I have a pile of used ones on my bench, but the thought of getting oil out of it seems impossible. My thought was to use it sitting like shown, gravity fed from the keggle, then into the fermenter in one pass. I am making a 300...

Will this work as a plate chiller?

I guess my reality of what is normal is skewed... I was thinking it may not be big enough. I handle these things daily, and they are "normal" size to me. But, have never seen the ones most here have mentioned, in person either. So I don't have much to compare it too. And yeah...the retail price...

    Hi temp liquid tubing

If your not concerned about color, try and diesel repair shop or dealer. I'm in the heavy diesel industry and pretty much every single low pressure hose we use is 100% silicone. The heater hoses are 2 ply silicone with a nylon braid. From the hose manufacturer, they are good to 300*F. This is...

Will this work as a plate chiller?

Here is a pic of an oil cooler I managed to get my hands on. Will this work as a plate chiller? Its stainless/copper, brand new. Not worried about the connections, I have access to a full machine shop, and all the metal working toys you can think of in my garage (MIG, TIG, plasma cutter, etc...

    How many brewers also cook?

I cook inside and out, but mostly meat, sauces, and creative things to do with the leftovers... like pulled pork maple egg muffins for breakfast. We are a family of meat eaters even my 18 month old loves rare steak and smoked ribs.

    Wireless thermometer for kettle?

First post here, been lurking for a while... as for a wireless thermometer, I would higly reccomend a Maverick et732 (amazon has good prices). I am new to brewing, but have been running my smokers for a few years and the mavericks are the only ones that seem to last and have a range that will...
