Advice needed - Short(ish) glycol system

Thanks day_trippr. Getting closer to pulling the trigger... this means re-doing beverage lines to the tower as well, and that raised another question: Is there any downside to having extra empty lines in the trunk line? Thinking since I only have 2 taps, I only need 2 lines, but I'm thinking...

Advice needed - Short(ish) glycol system

Background: I have built-in taps that are fed from a kegerator in a closet next to the bar. Lines are about 11' long, but kinda snake through the wall. Blower system isn't working well enough to keep lines cold - foaming issues with beer, carb issues with the fizzy water After a while the...

The Stasis - A glycol system designed for homebrewers - Pre-Order now for $599

Could this be used for dispensing? Would 24/7 operation be OK?

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

That's what I'm thinking too. :( As for everyone saying don't worry about the silicone tubing... Just some food for thought: http://www.mocon.com/assets/documents/PPS_Article_highq.pdf

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

No secondary, only Primary. 2nd batch was in the fermenter 1.5-2 weeks longer than first batch. Just thinking more, and reading the responses, that's what I'm leaning toward. No, no pressurized transfers - also, it's a brew-bucket, not a conical (not that it should really matter for this).

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

No, both were a 60 min. boil. If there was a difference in boil rate is was minimal.

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

I'm not sure... probably 1/4 - 1/3 lbs. I added until I hit the pre-boil number I was looking for. Just to be clear... I added on the lighter color (1st) batch, not the 2nd batch. You think lighter color could be because of lower efficiency + DME?

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

Could be; I was really careful not to splash, but still... Possible - the first was a little (not bad, but a little) cloudy, but it had good flavor/aroma. The 2nd batch is really dull for flavor/aroma.

    Track down the Issue (Oxidation?)

Argh... This is supposed to be a Sculpin clone (light colored IPA). First pic & second pic are the same recipe, same overall BIAB method, both fermented in SS Brewtech stainless fermenter, both temp controlled, both kegged (starsan & CO2 purge), with only minor changes in process... can you...

    Tower in the granite

You have to put your foot down every so often right? :mug: (please don't let my wife see that I said that) :p

    Tower in the granite

If you need flexible, I might look at glycol (assuming freezer has space). I air-cooled my tower with a blower - I found Micromatic's guide pretty useful: https://www.micromatic.com/dispense-keg-beer-away-from-refrigerator If flexible, I'd be worried about kinks restricting air-flow. I...

    Tower in the granite

Kegerator is in the closet just to the left of this... lines are piped through a 2" ABS pipe (going through the wall & cabinet, and behind the fridge that you see pictured above). ~13' of line for Beer, ~26' of line for carbonated water Blower keeps lines cool (at least it should, just...

    Tower in the granite

After pushing for taps in the kitchen, SWMBO said why not do a wine/beer bar in the hallway behind the kitchen. Pretty happy with the result:

Brew Bucket owners - What Mini Fridge are you using ?

Frigidaire FFBC46L2QS-1... wife thought I was nuts to take it out of the box and start cutting wires before I had even plugged it in. :D Old HP Mini running BrewPi.

    Under cabinet side port?

Yeah, I bailed on the idea of going out the side of the fridge... too many things weren't gonna work right (including too small of a sink to have both faucet & tap on the sink). I'll do a new post when this is all done with details, but ended up putting the kegerator in a closet next to the...

    Under cabinet side port?

I'm looking to do something like the attached picture, with both a sink & the tap tower right next to each other (to save counter top space). I need to do the kegerator under the cabinet, but it won't be able to go right under the tower because of the sink basin. I won't be able to go out of...

Examining possible solutions to issue of sulfur smell from Perlick 650ss faucets

Yeah, I went to bed pretty upset about this. I was going to give them a chance to fix it, but was not really trusting them after seeing this... just went and was reviewing my order info before I called them... apparently I'm an idiot, and somehow selected the wrong shanks. I picked stainless...

Examining possible solutions to issue of sulfur smell from Perlick 650ss faucets

The plot thickens... after a few weeks of use, the sulfur smell completely went away - even after letting it sit for up to a week at a time. Then this afternoon I actually got around to mounting my taps (they had just been loose in the fridge), and check out what the shank looks like. I...
