Dedicated Spring Water Soda Water Machine Build

I wouldn't worry too much about the noise. It only runs for a few seconds every other pint or so. Also it isn't that loud--quieter than a garbage disposal, a little louder than a dishwasher. I was originally going to build a sound attenuating box over my pump, but found that that noise really...

I think it will be fine as long as the line running from the carbonator os reasonably short. My setup is pretty much exactly what you have described except it is built into a wetbar. The mini-fridge is right next to the sink, so the line is only about 2 1/2 feet long. I used an old-school...

I used chicocompany.com for all of my fittings and tubing. They have a nice selection of stainless and brass fittings. I'd be careful with the hardware store braided high pressure tubing--I've heard that they can burst at high temperature. I don't know if the soda-specific stuff sold by Chico...

Just to follow up with what Taz said--another option is to have a chilled reservoir that feeds the carbonator tank. I made one out of PVC pipe that works well (I posted a picture earlier in this thread). I have the smaller carbonator tank (32oz) and with the reservoir I have never had any...

Dedicated Spring Water Soda Water Machine Build

I got the subscription email as well for some reason--so I guess I'll update too. It looks like there are some great systems out there! My system has been working very well for ~9 months now. My main concern when I built it was that my reservoir in the fridge was too small and the soda would...

Carbonator set up in home wetbar/drink fridge

The PVC reservoir is on the tap water side of the carbonator, so it only has to hold ~50psi. The output of the carbonator tank runs directly to the faucet and is 1/4 reinforced beverage tubing rated at something like 225 or 250 psi. I don't recall the which schedule PVC I used, but I did check...

I think your pressure might be too high or maybe something is wrong with your faucet. I found that at higher pressures the seltzer comes out to fast and then foams up an loses carbonation. ~80 psi seems to work well for me with the fridge set to 41deg. In theory you can lower the pressure if...

Here is a pic of the PVC pipe reservoir.

Carbonator set up in home wetbar/drink fridge

More than happy to share. I kept a spreadsheet of all the parts if anyone is interested. The tubing size for the carbonator to tap is 1/4" (high pressure, reinforced) and I'm running about 80-85 psi for a good level of carbonation--similar to bottled soda water. The fridge is set to 41deg...

    Need your guys expert opinion!

Looks good. I'm not sure that I understand the purpose of the pressure tank. It looks like it is 't'ed off of the soda out line of the carbonator tank. I was assuming that it would be a soda reservoir that would hold the chilled seltzer water prior to being dispensed to increase the capacity...

    Need your guys expert opinion!

Looks like a good reservoir. I personally like Roger's idea of keeping the carbonator tank and a cold water reservoir in the fridge and then having a short high pressure line to the faucet, but I don't see why you couldn't store only the seltzer in a reservoir if it could handle the pressure...

    Need your guys expert opinion!

The trick with seltzer is that the water must be cold for the CO2 to stay in solution. This can be accomplished a couple ways. Carbonators usually work by combining the CO2 and water in a stainless steel tank at ~100psi at room temperature (the CO2 pressure is provided by the regulator and...

That's a good start. There are a couple builds in this thread that would be interesting to you: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f95/dedicated-sping-water-soda-water-machine-build-390573/ Some of us have had success putting the carbonator tank and a water reservoir in the refrigerator to keep the...

I just started experimenting with making some syrup to make lemonade and hard lemonade. The nice thing is that you can adjust the sugar to your liking. Most syrups are just way too sweet for me. I don't have any recipes, I just keep mixing until I like it. Just made a lemon, lemon zest...

One last pic. You can still see the old soda stream on the counter, but here is the final wetbar with everything closed up. The soda faucet is on the right side of the sink. Thanks for all the help! I'm not sure I could have done it without you guys. I'd be more than happy to provide p/n's...

Sarink, Funny you should mention leaks. I just finished upgrading those tanks last night to a custom PVC tubing based reservoir that I built. Two of the refrigerator tanks units started to leak after a few weeks of use. My logic in using them was that they would only be holding the same...

Carbonator set up in home wetbar/drink fridge

(this was posted at the bottom of another thread, so I thought I would post here to give it a bit more visibility) Yay! I finally got my system up and running and it turned out much better than anticipated. My goal was to put a soda dispenser into a wet bar to provide filtered soda water to a...

Yay! I finally got my system up and running and it turned out much better than anticipated. My goal was to put a soda dispenser into a wet bar to provide filtered soda water to a fountain head on the counter. I already had a 2-Zone wine/beverage fridge in the wet bar, but I was hoping to...

Dedicated Spring Water Soda Water Machine Build

I haven't actually built anything yet (parts are on order and I'll be trying a modified version of Roger55's setup), but I've done a bit of research and will offer my opinion. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in. I don't think that would work. The output from the carbonator is...
