    another newb question on first AG

    I batch sparge and found this calculator to be very helpful. http://brewheads.com/batch.php I use a keggle and boil off about 1.5 gallons per hour. So I make sure after I sparge to have an extra 1.5 gallons preboil. This calculator is good for estimating what your preboil gravity...

    Ouch, very sad story. I'd replace that glass carboy with a better bottle, I once lost my grip and dropped a full BB about 2 feet and it didnt break.

    Missed Gravity : add DME to the fermenter?

    ill have to agree with -a keggle(with ballvalve and thermo) -and a 70 qt coleman extreme(with ballvalve and bazooka screen or stainlessbraid) -a decent burner -a good thermomenter and you're good to go!

    thanks for your answers guys. Im just going to stick to my single sparge method for now. I was just worried about "hot side airation" because I catch my first runnings in a bucket. Time to look into buying a seperate HLT.

    the thirty quart pot is cutting it a bit close, might have a boilover so be careful. Everything else looks pretty good.
