Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Not to chide bruhops - there are at least three types of organisms in your yeast ball so it can be confusing. The three types are mold, bacteria, and yeast. The mold saccharifies the starch. The lactobacillus create the citrusy, tangy flavor and lower the PH so that yeast can do their...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Winter, the top rice being like glue is fine - it's probably just the steam condensing at the top and dripping onto the top rice. Next time you won't have to cook it over again. That's also Ok. Like others have mentioned you want to keep your fermentation dark to prevent bacteria and algae...

How do you know if you drink too much.

Beer mold won't go away - help!

Beer mold won't go away - help!

I'd sterilize the carboy in the oven. It should fit since it's only a gallon. What I do with bottles is clean all sediment out of them with a bottle brush, add a tablespoon of water and seal it with aluminum foil. Then cook them in the oven at 235 degrees F for 8 hours. You want to be...

    Clean up!

I'm interested in the "inline oxygen creator". That looks like it's attached to an air pump and has a submicronic filter on it? What air pump is that? What PSI is it rated at? Also interested in the bottle filler. Thanks I can do local pickup.
