    I'm building a fridge kegerator. Looking for any tips.

    My plan is to pass the shanks through the side of the fridge instead of the door. This way I won't have lines moving around as much when I open the door to add or remove a keg. I also don't think I'll need additional reinforcement for the shanks since the sides are thicker than the door...

    Trouble connecting quick disconnects to posts

    I always have to really struggle to get my QD's on to the post of my keg. Any advice? Last time I had to put a 2x4 on top of the QD and tap it down with a hammer.

    Does anyone here have a MoreBeer system?

    I'm very interested but the kettle sizes make me weary. They use 15 gallon kettles for the 10 gallon system. I think that a 20 gallon kettle would be better for a 10 gallon boil.

    How do you calculate grain weights based on percentages?

    I've seen a lot of recipes in the format of, for example, OG: 1.065, 95% 2 row, 5% Crystal 30. What is the calculation for determining grain weight for different batch sizes?

    Perlick Faucet with Flow Control?

    I am curious if anyone here uses them and can share. Does the flow control work any better than the regular faucets? It would be nice to not bother with line length as much.

    Clarity Problems

    Trimming a thermometer probe

    Has anyone shortened the probe on their kettle thermometer? My immersion chiller hits the probe in my kettle and I don't want it to interfere with cooling temp readings. Is it okay to hack off a bit of it or should I look for a shorter probe?

    BJCP Style for Stone Levitation?

    I brewed the Can You Brew It recipe for Stone Levitation and would like to enter it in a competition. I'm not sure if I should enter it in 10B: Amber Ale or 23A Specialty Beer with Amber Ale as a base. I think the high hop flavor and aroma puts it a little out of style for 10B.

    DMS/Diacetyl Confusion

    I've heard from two people now that DMS causes diacetyl. Where are people getting this idea from? Diacetyl is a bi-product of fermentation, so I don't understand why people associate it with DMS. Has anyone else heard this?

    Cheap or expensive refractometer?

    I'm considering a cheap refractometer from Amazon, but I am curious if there are any big differences between a cheap and an expensive one. The models I am comparing have the same features, but from my experience you get what you pay for.
