    Wyeast

I smacked and allowed to incubate for a day or two before brew day, and ended up out of town and out of time..I think I'm gonna have to count this pack as a loss, and just grab some us05 and get to it this weekend. Thanks for all of the replies

    Wyeast

I slapped my pack last Thursday with hopes to brew this past weekend, ran out of time. My pack inflated, but I ran out of time and couldn't brew...is the yeast still salvagable?

It's the jakes CDA recipe from NB, by not enough flavor I meant it tasted like the full flavor from the grain, hops, etc was left behind a bit. The taste is great, but it's not quite as 'bold' as I thought it would be. I fermented at 65 for three weeks and then bottled. OG was 1.060 on the nose...

    First BIAB results

My first all grain/BIAB just hit 4 weeks old in the bottle, and I opened one for the first time last night. Flavor was great, but it seemed to be lacking some. It was the NB Cascadian Dark Ale BIAB recipe kit. Its almost as if some of the good flavors got left behind, so Im assuming this could...

5 gal brewing in an apartment?

I brewed a 3 gallon all grain batch on my electric stove and was able to get it to a nice rolling boil...took an hour to get there though..if you have the space to use a burner outside or on your porch that would be your best bet

    yeast issue

No I tossed it. I'm going to wait another day and then if nothing re-pitch with some us-05 and hope for the best.

    yeast issue

Thanks for the replies. I've never had one slow to start like this. And with my first AG brew day being a success(or so I hope anyway) I was starting to worry...but yes RDWHAHB

    yeast issue

No, no starter this time and the og was 1.060. I would assume the pack was fresh, I ordered it from NB last week. It is a 3 gallon batch. Should I bring the temp up at all? And if it does come down to re-pitching, would it be ok to toss in some US-05 instead of waiting another week for new yeast...

    yeast issue

I brewed my first all grain yesterday and pitched wyeast 1056 once my wort got to 65. My ferm chamber is set at 65. It's been coming up to 24 hours since I pitched and I'm seeing zero activity. All of the yeast has settled on the bottom. How long should I wait before re-pitching? is this normal...

    First BIAB

Lafayette. I think I can get away with it, I'm gonna give it a try on my next one. There's no way I'm waiting on that electric stove anymore.
