    Saw this floating in my mead

    I agree..sounds like plastic..hope you sanitized the poo out of it..if you did you should be fine..worst case scenario if it doesnt clear out and settle is your going to have to maybe strain a whole batch through a coffee filter or something..what a pain in the bum.

    Extra headspace after racking.

    I use spring water to top off in my secondary..my tap water has cloramine so I cant boil to declorinate and wife is sensitive to sulfites so no campden..and on a gallon batch just a pinch of yeast nutrient is always good.

    Just baught my first beer kit..i like making ciders cyser mead and melomel so this is gonna be fun. I have an irish amber ale extract kit to try..:)
