Looks like California and Idaho have similar harvest seasons. This is my first hop pole....16 feet high with Galena, Columbus and Centennial Hops hitting the top with hundreds of burrs. Each plant will give me around 25 ounces dry.

Where do you live that you can harvest hops this early? I am still getting sidearms and first burrs. My normal harvest runs from mid August to the end of September.

Any Idaho Hop Growers out there? I live 15 miles from 3 major hop farms near Wilder Idaho. In fact, some of my original rhizomes came from one of those hop farms. I have been growing hops for 12 years now. Belong to Snake River Brewers Homebrew Club. Any other Idahoans out there?:mug:

Drip Systems are optimal for Hop Gardens. Also....Your Hops will stop growing when they hit their full height and start putting out sidebars.

Interesting. I ordered 2 EKG rhizomes about 8 years ago. One of the 2 was male...... I was advised that it was simply a female in trauma and would return to female the next year....it did not. In fact, after three years, I had all these little baby hops coming up from seed. I destroyed...
