Good idea for a leftover beer?

My college age daughter threw a party with my extras. I just happened to mention that I had all this beer...:mug:

    10 gal kettle - thoughts?

We have a scrap metal buyer here in Knoxville. I bought an extremely heavy 10 gal commercial stainless pot for 13 bucks. You might have one in your neighborhood

Another "anyone tried this" thread with a story

Brew her up a mead...My wife loves the Raspberry Ginger I made just for her. I'm collecting the stuff to do a blueberry ginger next. Honey is expensive. It takes a lot of education to get a woman to drink real beer. Good beer grows on ya.

First batch ever, foamed like crazy.

ooooo...I never chill my beer...cold liquids are hard on the body...I keep my beer in the basement. My "Eat yer heart out Guiness" stout is fine room temp. And the "Not so Robust" porter is too. The 5.5 percent English Ale is great floor temp and the Smoked is only used for cooking.

    amount of bottling sugar

I prefer to use pale malt extract for bottling....use a little more than sugar...I use 3/4 cup dry extract boiled for 5 minutes in a cup of water for 5 gallons. Takes longer to make CO2 but the beer tastes better.

    The hop shortage

I consider myself lucky. The local homebrew club did their annual order and bought a pallet of grain and a couple of hundred pounds of hops. I bought 2 bags of Canadian 2 row and 2 pounds of Cascade for 111.50. That's 4 batches...80 gallons should last at least a month.

Easy way to get labels off?

I've got some EXTREMELY stuck labels and pretty much gave up and just left them soak...for a month...the bottles are green...the water is green...and the labels slide right off.
