    24 flip top bottles (500ml / 16 oz. size) - $30

I have 24 flip top bottles (500ml / 16 oz. size) w/ caps and gaskets for sale. I have an extra pack of gaskets to throw in as well. These are great for homebrewing beer and would probably work well for soda too. $30 for all. Located in Chestertown, MD (zip code 21620.) Local pickup strongly...

too much priming sugar in keg! oh no!

Well, my maiden voyage into kegging has already become a fiasco. :( When I primed the keg today I stupidly used 5oz of priming sugar instead of 2.5oz... I'll blame it on the fact I bottled a batch this morning and then kegged this afternoon (yeah, that's it...) If I plan to vent the keg...

    Schlitz or Blatz font?

Does anyone know of a font that reproduces the style of cursive script used on either Schlitz or Blatz beer labels? I want to do a lawnmower-type beer for the summer, and my last name ends with "tz", so it seems like a winner. Except for the fact I cant find a font, that is... Thanks in...

tap mt'd on Corny keg - any performance issues?

Hi folks, Does anyone have experience to share with those rigs where the tap is mounted directly on the corny keg liquid out, and uses the handheld CO2 dispenser with the small bulbs? I am thinking about moving up to kegging, and don't know if they would work well as a mobile dispensing...

How long will it keep in a non-refrigerated keg?

Apologies if this is a dumb question: I'm thinking of trying to get into kegging, but due to my housing circumstances and SWMBO, I'm not going to be able to do an entire setup right now. If I put a batch into a Corny keg stored in the basement, and then let that sit for several months at...

    Beware of the Apfelwein!

Well, I just had the chance to sample last evening my inaugural batch of Apfelwein... I've been reading over the past few months about how potent it is, how it sneaks up on you, etc. etc... Mother of god, it's all real. I am a true believer in the tales! I know I went to bed last night...

    #1 cool job: brewmaster

http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/worklife/06/02/cb.cool.pay.jobs/index.html *** 1. Brewmaster To put it mildly, a lot of people like to drink beer. It's associated with goods times, 21st birthdays and football games. (In fairness, it's also associated with hangovers the next day.) Who...

Slave to the OG? (not a 50 Cent album)

Hey all, Just finished brewing my second batch ever, and I have a question: the kit I used said my OG should be .035-.040 but I came out at .050 on my first try and .045 on my second once I had added water up to the recommended level. In a situation like this, should I add even more water...

    Sanitizing a flip-top

Hi everyone, I'm planning to bottle my first batch of beer in a week or so, and am planning to use a variety of bottles: flip-tops, brown glass, clear glass etc. Basically I'm interested in seeing the different results I may get with different types, and I already have the bottles. :) On...

    hello from Maryland...

My first batch of real stuff (I used to have "The Beer Machine" about 10 years ago and am not sure if that counts) is in fermentation right now... this site has been a great resource so far, and I look forward to hopefully contributing based on my own experience in the future!
