    Help with first time Kegging / force carbonating, regulator

    This is my first time Kegging, and I am trying to force carbonate my beer at around 30 psi. My regulator is only reading around 17.5 lbs psi max. I don't see any leaks, what could be the possible reasons for the low psi reading?

    Worm in bag of crushed grains

    I just had a package of crushed grains arrive, and I noticed it had a small worm in the bag. I imagine I shouldn't worry about it, the boil should work it out, but just want to make sure. Is this common?

    Is a ruined batch inevitable?

    Just wondering, is a ruined batch inevitable even if you are really careful with sanitation, process, and ingredients? I don't have that many batches under my belt, so it would be interesting to hear other people's experiences with batches they have had to dump.

    Lager bottle carbed after only 5 days uncommon?

    Final Gravity and additional Extract

    This is probably a dumb question.... Would adding more fermentables to a recipe change the final gravity, or would final gravity remain the same as long as you had proper pitching rate?

    Lagering Question

    Looks like most people rack right after the diacetyl rest, then bring down the temperature to Lagering temperatures in the secondary. Does anybody bring the primary temperature down to Lagering temperatures (after the D-rest) before racking to secondary? Would there be any benefits to It?

    Advice on Dark German Style lager

    I am going to make a clone for "Noche Buena" which is a seasonal Mexican version of a Bock. Recipe is from Papazian's Complete Joy of Homebrewing. I was hoping for any suggestions that might help me make it a good beer. (late malt extract addition, steeping, pitching temp, secondary, etc.)...
