    Used Kegerator question

Rejected offer at $400. He countered at $900 and gave the classic "someone is coming to look at it tomorrow."

    Used Kegerator question

@Dr_Jeff Thank you...What is the con to T towers? Ideally I'd have a mushroom tap or ceramic, but I cannot afford that.

    Used Kegerator question

Thank you very much. I am actually in the Washington DC area and fortunately I have some time on my hands while the forced isolation is going on. I will follow your procedure but I will say I’d like to put a t tower or mushroom tower on it to support 4 kegs. Guess I’ll probably just have to be...

    Used Kegerator question

There’s no way I can afford $1,000. If I could I would put that money toward a new unit. What do you think a fair price for a used bev-air dd48 is? 10years old

    Used Kegerator question

@Dr_Jeff thanks for the advice! I know its old, and it is used. However its one of the better ones I have seen since lurking on CL and the local facebook market. That said, I don't feel comfortable going over $500 (which is still high for me as a graduate student living in an apartment). And I...

    Used Kegerator question

Yes @Dr_Jeff and @bracconiere , this is my original account, but it would not accept my email. The seller is asking $1,000, obo. He has it in his head that bev-air units go for 3x that amount. Not sure what a fair offer would be that won't turn him off. Also, I will ask about the kegs and CO2 tank.

    Used Kegerator question

Thank you for the info. After they gave me that quote, I parted with the unit. Have you seen the photos of the one I am currently looking at? it is a dd48, roughly 10 years old. The owner said he bought it from a hotel that was renovating...

    Used Kegerator question

@Dr_Jeff, okay I will ask him to do so. I am aware that sometimes it’s an easy fix but this professional company said that the coil represented Swiss cheese and it was filled with r22. So it was pretty old. At least this one is r134a

Low O2 keg transfer issue and help with hop pickup

Thank you all for your reply! I did a little reading and found a product from UtahBioDiesel. It is a 300 micron mesh filter that fits over the siphon. I am thinking about giving this a try. Otherwise i may pull the poppet out of the keg post to allow for easier flow.

    Commercial Kegerator

Thanks for the post. I am mostly familiar with Beverage-air and True, but I guess I am open to others as well. I know I am pretty close to a servicer. Biggest problem is finding one in my budget that isn't 20+ years old. The one you have a pretty large for my size apartment. I'm hoping to have...

    Commercial Kegerator

Thanks for the reply! Any difference in kegco brand vs bev air vs true? Buying new is a little out of my price range but I will keep an eye out

    Commercial Kegerator

I’ve been stalking the restaurant auctions north of Richmond, closer to DC and MD and there are 1 or 2, but most of them are huge and really beat up. It’s hard to pass up how cheap they can be bought there but some of them are really beat.

    Commercial Kegerator

Hello everyone, been doing some digging on Craigslist, FBmarket, and on here. I'm in search of a commercial kegerator. Preferably lightly used, Bev-air or True brand. Open to others as well. Looking in the DC, NoVA, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey area. Thanks! Kyle

Help with heating strike water/wort faster

mongoose33, Thank you...I have heard of unsulating the kettle, but I am not crazy about doing that while the gas is on. I am hoping to be able to put the gas on high and plug in the heat stick at the same time. I have heard of a heatstick from brewer's hardware, but I am not keen on spending...
