With IPAs and such where additions are made right up to flameout, I've been finding great results in using a hop stand technique. Cool the wort slightly to about 170. Turn the chillier off and let the whole thing sit for 20-30 minutes. then chill the rest of the way. I'm finding really good hop...- hired_goon

The Dark Lord ....cloning this massive beer!!
To give credit and an update. I've brewed this annually for the past 3 years. I have never even been close to a bottle of Dark Lord, so cannot to a comparison for anyone looking for an exact replica. I brewed this up a couple months ago and bottled it. I had to do an extract version. It's winter and my garage isn't heated. I live in Canada.
