Finished... used a bottom freezer so taps are at perfect height.. 2 draft taps and a third keg on the beer engine... balancing the temp for the real ales on beer engine is a pain but workable... logo and tap titles are printed magnets ran a competition on a freelance website to design the...

Oops.. what do you think this will be?

C'mon I could even read wheat versus amber!! So googled and found 65% wheat it's a coopers 1.5kg Un hopped extract... if your correct and it's 35% wheat then I'm looking at 8 %?

Oops.. what do you think this will be?

Plan to lager it for a bit ... do you think it clear ..by my calculations if the extract is 65% wheat it would be 15% wheat in the grain bill? Plan to serve it via my beer engine so expecting a very full bodied Ale with a head that will never die!!

Oops.. what do you think this will be?

CO2 good or not? Help with an experiment?

It was more of an aroma hard to describe...which may have been the gas hanging about in the glass... Like I said after about 20-30 seconds the water tasted normal... There was no residue in the glass so the gas must be clean... I have a ESB ready to keg I may just give it a whirl... My only...

CO2 good or not? Help with an experiment?

Looking for a kind soul to help me test something... I brew in the tropics let's say that home brewing is semi legal but frowned upon... Hence my supplies come from far away and getting CO2 refills is hard... I found a place that does fire extinguishers and got it filled for about 3 USD!! 5...

Anyone brew 5 gallon batches on your kitchen stove?

I brew in a condo no outdoor space, it's rented so limited to the existing gas stove a 5g boil just wouldn't work so I split into two kettles and combine into the fermenter... Don't know the power but the bigger ring can get a good rolling boil and the second kettle I place over the second and...

Just curious. How many batches before you're not a beginner?

My epiphany was when I poured away a commercial beer and opened a home-brew... No longer a beginner but it will take a couple of lifetimes to become an expert... This hobby, this obsession....if the learning ever stopped I would stop brewing!

    Brewing beer in the tropics

Hi, I've been brewing in the "Tropics" Asia Pacific region for about 18 months, cant afford a spare fridge with a controller so Ive found the best way to control Ferm temperature is to use the Polystyrene cool boxes with bottles of Frozen water mixed with a little dishwashing detergent. You can...

So far Ive only been bottling and I must say some of my beers are great out of the bottle but gee wiz doesn't the bottling process just suck??? I live in the far east and all things homebrew are considerably harder to do here than back home (GB) I love Real Ale so decided to blow some of my end...

Hi I use a Corona knock off set it up with a drill but I'm not the most DIY orientated bloke so I'm now back to hand cranking it after the drill started smoking... Been through the rolling pin and food blender stages.... Just messy and sweaty I get through about 5 kgs per half hour and the...

Thanks for all the feedback... It sounds like you guys have put a lot of research and testing into these methods and I appreciate your sharing your knowledge...
