    Perlick 425 Faucet Parts

Thanks Broken Crow. I looked at that site and it may be my only hope I guess, the plunger they have looks plastic instead of the original though, which was SS. Hoping maybe to find a website. It's annoying that a couple websites advertise the kits and then you click on it and it says out of stock...

    Perlick 425 Faucet Parts

Hi - So I dug out my two Perlick 425 faucets and figured I would replace some of the parts, they have been sitting around on an old tower in the closet for maybe a dozen years or so. Seems the metal lever & plunger replacement kits are no longer available/out of stock on the websites I found...

Kegerator Tubing Size and Length for Stout Question

Thanks again day_tripper! I'll order 8' of the 4mm EVABarrier. Plenty for me to easily attach the the tap to the 1/2 keg of Guinness outside of the kegerator and then place it inside. I checked with HAUN gas supply near me, they said they do fill nitrogen cylinders with beer gas mixture, I...

Kegerator Tubing Size and Length for Stout Question

Hi - I am in the process of setting up my kegerator to dispense Guinness Stout. Using the recommended 25% Co2 and 75% nitrogen. Can someone recommend what length and ID of Barrier Tubing for the liquid side? I would be dispensing at the recommended 30-38 PSI. Planning on placing an order for the...

    Micro Matic Nitrogen Regulator Question

Thanks whoaru99 for the suggestion. I went ahead and ordered a new stem, nut and associated O-ring from MicroMatic since the fitting on my regulator is a CGA-320 which is probably no longer fillable and the nitrogen tanks are all CGA-520. Easy fix. Bill

    Micro Matic Nitrogen Regulator Question

I just ordered the stem, nut and 2 O-rings from Micro Matic. Should be all set now. I'm thirsty after all this! Thanks again! Bill

    Micro Matic Nitrogen Regulator Question

Thank you day_tripper, I appreciate the information and clarification! I was starting to go nutty wondering what I had. Do you know if I can just replace the stem/coupling to a CGA 520? It is probably the simplest way to correct my situation since it's missing the O-ring anyway. So were the old...

    Micro Matic Nitrogen Regulator Question

Hi, I have an older Micro Matic nitrogen regulator that I probably haven't used in maybe 10 years or so, switched over to CO2. I am now setting up a kegerator for Guinness and want to use the nitrogen regulator again. It's well made and I never had any issues with it. But it looks like the...

    Faucets and shanks

Thank you. I received a couple of faucets with a used TRUE kegerator that I just picked up and it seemed like the tower's shank is designed to work with the no-name rear sealing faucet. It has a flow control that mates up with the shank. I plan to replace the faucet with a new Perlick 630SS...

    TRUE TDD-1 Kegerator Question

Hi, I just brought home a 10 year old TRUE TDD-1 in extremely nice, residential use only condition. I'm in the process of changing out the beverage and gas lines, soaking the keg connector, tail pieces and tower cooling hose, cleaning the interior stainless floor and galv side and back walls...

    Wine tannins

Thanks MightyMosin, I appreciate the information! I will definitely check out the FT Blank tannin version for my future meads.

    Wine tannins

Thank you lumpher! I wasn't familiar with gelatin as a fining agent. I remember that clarifiers are either positive and negative with opposites attracting and binding. I couldn't find anything online regarding tannin and whether it was negative or positive. I'll check out gelatin. Much appreciated.

    Wine tannins

Hi - I have a question hoping someone can help me with regarding adding tannins to mead. I have never used tannins before but I've been following a popular channel on Youtube lately dedicated to making meads, wine and cider and they suggested adding tannins to increase mouthfeel. So... I added...

5-Gallon Oak Barrel is not 5-gallons

Received my new 6-gallon barrel from Bochart today. Very nice! A gigantic leap in both craftsmanship and materials. Highly recommend this barrel manufacturer. I already want to get another one...

5-Gallon Oak Barrel is not 5-gallons

Dr_Jeff - I checked out the Barrel Mill as an alternative but they were sold out through 2023... They don't provide $$ on their website, I wonder how their prices compare to the other "legit" premium US made barrel manufacturers? The shipping can be cost prohibitive depending on location...

5-Gallon Oak Barrel is not 5-gallons

After further research and texting with a Bochart rep, I decided to go with one of their 6-gallon oak barrels. French Oak, charred with stainless steel hoops. They stated that their barrels are typically a bit larger volume-wise than the identified capacity. Shipping was very reasonable as well...
