    Pelicle on starter?

    They don't fare well in a pH below 2.2 most commercial Brewers acid wash to this level when the the yeast becomes buggy. it's not an ideal but it will help no longer than 2 hours tho

    Add Lemon juice , approx 15% of your starter voluume for a few hours . It might kill off some of the bugs

    Wild yeast

    So I am planning on using some wild yeast from my garden. I am using dme water and gelatine to make an agar. I usually add some lemon Juice to act as an acid to prevent bacterial grow but I have some penicillin from the doc. Has anyone ever added this to thre agar mixture to prevent bacteria grow?
