    Conversions

    Ok my giant brain home brewers,what is the formula for converting malted grain to malt extract?Example 1pound of dme =?pounds of malted grain. I am looking to make a barleywine using rye and rye malt and haven't found a malted extract for rye.

    O.g. 1.150

    Morning folks, I just finished starting my first batch of Barley wine. Problem is o.g. is 1.150 should I starting adding more grape juice or what? Yes folks the recipe called for grape juice.This a 1gal. batch ,I have no problem with going to 2or3 gal.

    I have to ask when a recipe calls for frozen juice concentrate,do I add required water or is it just the concentrate? Also can it contain anything other than asorbic acid?:tank:

    what type of bottle

    This is my first real season at home brewing.I am confused can meads be bottled in beer bottles or should they be put in wine bottles? At present I have apx. 6 cases of empty beer bottles and access to all the empty wine bottles I want.:tank:

    4 on the shelf

    just got done starting 4 /1 gallon batches of mead.A cyser/graf, bracket,honey ale and last but not least a modification of Joe's quick Grape mead.I changed out grape juice to tart cherry and lessened the honey and added 10 oz. of DME.
