    Outdoor Brewing to Indoor Fermenting

I brewed outside last week for the first time on a propane burner, its the way to go! But I was wondering could one 'skunk' the beer if boiling in sun light? I kept in the shade.

    Keg pressure question

Beginner kegger, I have my beer in a corny for 5 days at 10PSI @ 35-40 degrees in my cellar hatchway. On day 5 I sampled a beer, nice had a good foamy head. Then I put the pressure down to 5PSI figuring I would get it to serving pressure for the weekend. On Friday (2 days at 5PSI) it was...

New to corny kegs questions II

Okay I have my first corny kegged and under pressure (10PSI). Now when I brew up another batch can I after several week unhook my carbonated keg and hook up to my new 2nd keg? So I make a T connection so both kegs are under pressure? I guess my question boils down to, if my first keg is...

My first attempt at kegging, comments?

Follow up It seems that was the gas in pop-it gasket. I guess a true dry test should be done with the CO2 left attached as the leak only occurred when the quick connect was attached.

My first attempt at kegging, comments?

The quick connects tend to leak. I have two that both exhibit the same leak. One QC is setup to a gauge while the other goes to my CO2 tank. If attached and I were to say put some pressure on then to the side, I can hear hissing. It seems like the spring within them does not exert much pressure...

My first attempt at kegging, comments?

Done, CO2 attached, sprayed soapy water no bubbles so far. What worried me was how sensitive the connectors are to leaking i.e. if you put pressure on the tubing and moved the connector say to one side a little I can hear gas leaking. The connectors have to be just so. I have brand new...

My first attempt at kegging, comments?

I just filled my first corny keg a few hours ago and plan on doing the following unless my plan is faulty. I set the CO2 pressure at 10 psi since I have the corny in my hatch way which is around 35 - 45 degrees. Now I did not leave the CO2 tank connected as I'm afraid of leaks, so my plan...

    CO2 Cylinders In Seattle Area

You may want to check a fill place. Someone gave me a tank and the only way to get it filled around here (CT) is to swap it for a filled one. So fif I had bought one it would be swapped for an used one.

    Does CO2 go bad?

I called a few places and they all swap. One place will fill but even without certification it would take 1-2 weeks.

    Does CO2 go bad?

I picked up some used corny kegs and and friend of mine gave me a CO2 tank along with gauges. Now I don't know how old the CO2 is, it can be between 1 - 15 years old. So before I swap the tank (only to refill around here) could I simple use the CO2 I have?

    Moving to kegs

Ready to jump into kegging, well once I get a batch brewing at Xmas. Ordered 4 reconditioned corney keys (pin lock) for xmas along with connectors, tubing, and a faucet. A fiend of mine gave me a dual dial regulator and co tank. Any quick tips or tricks to kegging and/or good kegging sites...

    forced carbonation vs priming sugar

Never knew one could do that: '2. Rack to a keg, prime with sugar, seal and leave at room temp to naturally carbonate.' So you could add sugar, add to a cornelius keg, allow to carbonate, then say in 3 weeks refrigerate? Then add enough co to 'push' beer out I assume.

Adding caraway seeds to a rye

I have a rye in my primary (2 days) and just thought about adding caraway seeds for flavor. Too late or can I add to secondary? If so how much, or is this just a bad idea? Comments?

Need advice on mini-mash - how much water to use?

I would email your questions to AHS. I have in the past and they always get right back to me. It would be interesting in hearing thier response.

Need advice on mini-mash - how much water to use?

While new to brewing I have made three mini-mashes to date (and 4th will be in about an hour) form AHS and following their directions always resulted in a good tasting beer.

    has anyone brewed with lemongrass

I just got a AHS Lemon grass Wheat mini-mash kit the other day and will be brewing it up in a week or so. I agree with you and now I'm trying to make the same.
