Touge: If you need it fast and dry yeast is okay, then order through brewland. They do have it in stock, and usually ship out within a week. Liquid is special-order only through advanced brewing, or direct shipment from overseas. espy, I'd agree with tekton- you can get it from Asahi for...

    Automated Natural Gas BIAB

Okay, so after reading more about how Tob77 is doing what he's doing... I don't understand it. I'm a complete beginner with electronics in general and raspberry pi in particular, so I'll take the easy route to start. Servo is on the way, but oh well. I'm angling more towards Raspibrew now...

    Automated Natural Gas BIAB

Ok still working on this project. I've purchased the first few parts: 1. the burner: My plan is to attach servomotors to one or both of the valves, ala Tob77's BrewNPi. 2. the servo: I will also be attaching this solenoid as a quick on/off switch. I may attempt a thermopile later, as well...

A friend clued me into a great device that you hook up on the water line into your washing machine. The device allows you to divert it to a garden hose with one knob. You can find them at most home centers, and it has a quick disconnect already installed. Very useful.

    Automated Natural Gas BIAB

I'm trying to figure out what all I need to get together in order to automate control of mash temperatures and kick a pump on/off. I'd like to someday go all-electric, but my current apartment was built approx. 300AD, and has 15A circuits. My requirements: 1. Heat: Tokyo Gas (Natural Gas)...

Most bars that handle import beers will get them from time to time. If you're near a big city, then there should be plenty of bars looking to get rid of them.

    Pump sizes?

Whoa that's a cool setup. I'm not familiar with "heater cores". How do they cool it off? Is it a radiator?

Thanks Guzz, I look forward to the pictures. Unfortunately, I believe the wiring in my apartment dates back before the Meiji Revolution, so the most I get is 15 amps on any one circuit, 30 total for the whole apartment! I'm not gonna be going electric any time soon, methinks. I'm still...

Here's the setup I'm using now.

    Pump sizes?

Hey Guzz, Yeah I haven't posted the biggest change. I dumped the radiators, because I couldn't get them to work quite right. I'm guessing real radiators have to be significantly colder than the 0-2C that I was using. Instead, I decided to pump the glycol directly into a metal pipe in the...

Guzz, I'm planning on doing something similar. Could you take some pics of your setup, and the modifications you made to the heater?

Brendan, where did you get the autosiphon? I would like to get one for sampling and cleaning lines.

I know that Devilcraft and Popeye accept CC. BF, when will you be in town? Maybe we could meet up. It's always a pleasure to meet other homebrewers!

    Japan Hops Trading -

Well they were in the dirt for several weeks, and they looked the same as the day I put them there. No new shoots at all. Not a bad idea, I'll plant it in my apartment's empty garden space (which we are forbidden from using ><) The planter and sticks are from Shimachu Homes. Planters are...

    Pump sizes?

Finally (mostly) finished it today! I was getting **** efficiency with the vinyl alone, so today I: 1. cut open the antifreeze pipes and attached them to radiators 2. added 120mm PC case fans 2. opened a hole in the back and routed power and antifreeze through there 3. insulated the antifreeze...

of the 4 rhizomes I've planted, this Sterling is the only one doing anything at all. :( I dug up the centennials, and they were just dead. I guess that's what happens when you ship late, and overseas. I tossed them and planted 2 willamettes in their place (shoulda planted them earlier, but no time)

I've been there, and can vouch for the BBQ. It's fantastic! And better than Bashamichi Taproom ;) I prefer the Sundays!
