    Gruit Cider

I do a similar with sage, juniper, lavender and a few other ingredients I can't think of off the top of my head. I boil in though in an asian black tea...again, would have to look at the name and cook down some black strap molasses. I then dry hop with simcoe. It's a hit with beer drinkers. Not...

    NOOB Cider Question

Pay the extra couple of bucks to get White Labs English Cider Yeast. My first batch was done with Lavlin Champagne yeast on advice of my LHBS guy. It came out tasting like acidy water. Strawberry Cider (in progress)

After some experimentation, I like to add the fruit AFTER primary fermentation. It seems to bring out the fruit flavor better. Not sure if there is a right or wrong time to add it. Oatmeal Cider

CoTron...I've only made ciders and cysers, so I'm unfamiliar with some of the terms you used, primarily the one listed below. Can you explain how this could be broken down as you stated below? "Oats need to be mashed with another grain that has some diastatic power in order to break up those...

    Oatmeal Cider

OK, so I've just started trying my hand at "craft cider" and am trying this mixture. Any thoughts or suggestions? 2 gallons apple cider ½ gallon Oat Milk (strained oatmeal below) Toast oats in oven or grill until golden brown. Bring water to boil and add oats. Boil for 5 minutes. Strain...
