Cider Lost Sweetness... Can I get it back?

Question on dosing with potassium sorbate. If cider is fully carbed will it make it still, or just prohibit more carbing? It was started in a corny and is ready to be stopped. I have no way to keep it cold enough to stop the yeast. Will it lose all it's carbonation if i just open it up and dose...

Bars of Madison, WI (go badgers)

Hey guys, unrelated but timely. Point has stopped using returnables! I was returning a case to Woodman's and she said they won't take them back in the near future. Just thought you might like a heads up. It was my go to beer for getting bottles.

I want a double wide deep sink!

A dairy supply store should be able to help you out with a nice used sink. I am using one from an old milkhouse.

Bars of Madison, WI (go badgers)

I agree about the Essen Haus and come back. I will never eat there again. But when friends come back to town they always wanna go there to drink. Nothin says comaraderie like a 5 litre stein. The Old Fashion is a good place to try some good beer. They have a good rotating selection of wis made...

    Another 1 bbl brewer

It seems everyone is concerned about where the outlet is on your tanks. If pulling liquid from the side a little above bottom is ideal, then why not put a short length of SS pipe in your drain to raise the spot where you are pulling the water. Seems like a good compromise. I would not do anymore...

    4 gallon water bottle $4.88

I was at Sam's Club today and bought a 4 gallon bottle of water for $4.88. The bottle is #1 PET. I will be using this for small batches. Thought it was a pretty good deal and just wanted to pass it on.

You know you're a brewer if...

When your 5 year old niece designs beer labels for you and asks if she can work in the brewery when she grows up.

    Grain mill questions

Oh Yeah, I also recommend conditioning the malt. Just a little spray bottle of water makes a big difference.

    Grain mill questions

I have been using one for a couple years now, it was a real headscratcher at first and almost got kicked to the curb. Fortunately I read Revvy's thread on them and Eureka! He had it figured out. A couple of washers later i was relaxin not worryin and makin homebrew. Thank you Revvy.

    Temp Control Importance??

100w is plenty for that much water. Also powerhead from the petshop might be a good idea to move the water around and keep the temp consistent everywhere.

    Aquaponic Hops

WortMonger, i really enjoyed this thread. I was going to do something very much like this this summer, but time got away from me. Tilapia would be the perfect fish for this. Then you could eat them as well. This combines three of my hobbies, Fishkeeping, beermaking, and Hydroponics. Thank you...
