    Ok thanks Yooper & Vandulus I have a 6.6 gallon batch with a half lb of chips soaked in bourbon for 3 weeks prior to seconday.The stout has been on the chips for 5 days and I am anti pre tasting for several reasons should I keg or let ot go longer ?????? THANKS

    My question is, is it safe to oxygenate a beer again after it has been fermenting for a few days ?????? I have heard that this can be done on day 2 or 3 but I have nevr done this and I am at day 5.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance.

    Yes woodlandbrew hydrometer is broken both readings were taken from a calibrated refractometer

    The wife shattered my hydrometer washing with it with hot water.I can't figure out the Hydrometer correction charts :-( My og was 1.085 and my current after 9 days is 1.041 at 72 degrees. Can somebody tell me my current ABV ??? Thanks in advance !!!!

    I poured the sample yesterday at 4:30 pm I took 3 readings this morning at 7:00 am refractomter read 1.055 hydrometer read 1.010 and I couldn't get a reading with my finish hydrometer...........it was below the sclae on that.

    Tasted beer came from kegerator.I sampled both kegs with little taste difference I only checked the gravity of one keg.The recipe was all grain hour and 20 min mash recirculate 20 min then fly sparge and 1 hour boil.yes it was calibtated.

    Can't remember og gravity it was brewed last Nov. I would have to look back over my notes I do remember I pitched 4 packs of us-05 that were on a starter on a stir plate for 48 hrs. Prior to pitching.
