    Portland, Oregon?

Wow why such the negativity towards Portland? I think maybe you should get the opinions of more than one person. I lived in the Salem area for 25 years and loved it. Sure there is rain but it's not that bad especially if your used to it, Portland is a big city but I have always liked all that...

Wait a minute since when did you have a 7bbl brewhouse? Things are really picking up if your already thinking about going from 10 gal batches to that.

Good, once the word gets out your going to have to upsize.

Well you know I think with the stock market crash it got a lot of people thinking. Part of the problem with our economy is that we are so detached from where our stuff is produced, I think people are starting to realize that we have to locally produce and consume products if we want to support...

Capa: That is the wave you can ride right now sir. I mean if you can make a good product you can get a huge local following. I can't wait until I move back to Oregon cause Salem is just ripe for a brewery and a lot of locally produced things such as restaurants and markets have really started...

Who brews all they drink? Who still buys beer?

Being a recent convert to Pro-Brewing I have seen how much the pro side of brewing drives the homebrew side of brewing. So as a result while I do like to drink my homebrew I make it a point to buy commercial stuff to support the bigger guys. Oh and i like a lot of commercial examples so there...

Staying with cornies for now is probably a good idea, going to sanke type kegs requires a whole new slew of equipment, and if your going to self distribute doing the maintenance on your customer's taps is going to be a pain in the rear.

    Here's your chance to Microbrew!

The thing that kills me is that they say you should ask the McMenamin brothers what they think of it and I know they don't use stuff like that. I'm assuming that is a Malt Extract system and they don't do extract systems.

    Here's your chance to Microbrew!

That is a sweet set up, come on guys I'm totally sure i could make $50k a month with that. In all seriousness you could buy a used 30bbl brewhouse for what he wants. You don't get rich being a brewery typically, this guy is a nut job.

Caldera IPA - Craft Beer in a Can???

That is my favorite IPA by far, craft beer in a can is a great idea. The brewery I'm working at is thinking of doing aluminum bombers, if we actually do I think that may be the new up and comer.

True the resale value of stainless is going to be much better, hopefully you wont need to sell them though. I like to be positive. Stainless kegs come up on probrewer all the time for around $100 a piece.

    Citra SMaSH IPA

Ah that makes more sense I guess I don't get no chill all that well.

    Citra SMaSH IPA

Well I might take the addition at 20 and put it at 10 and 5 to get some more of those lemon flavors, hell I might even get rid of the 60min addition all together and put that in at the end as well. 15lbs of vienna is a lot, traditionally I think of SMASH beers as more like session beers but why...

It's a crap shoot though I mean as long as you get back your stainless kegs they will last for ever and more than likely the plastic ones will need to be replaced I'm assuming. You know I feel like we're hijacking Hoss's thread as the new Pro-Brewer advice thread. Maybe we need to start...

Used stainless is the way to go as long as you can find them, you also have to consider the value of stainless versus plastic. You aren't going to have homebrewers and crazy meth addicts stealing plastic kegs. I also like the idea that the plastic kegs have rfid chips in them so if you had a...

Microbrewery set up....must be rich ;)

You know you could get something bigger used on Probrewer

What's with All the Enzyme Threads?

That is probably my main aggravation about this forum sometimes, people just try to make brewing too difficult. If a lot of those people saw what we do on the pro-side they would relax.

    How much do you drink?

Really alcoholism has little to do with how much you drink, although drinking excessively is not good either, but more with how you react to alcohol and how you treat it. I have 1 of 2 a night but if I was to hide those 1 or 2 and was addicted to having those beers I just may be an alcoholic.
